I'm going to be honest, I don't really enjoy these control point type activities; they're just not fun for me. I'm sorry if any of my posts during this part seem lackluster, and I'll do my best to not ruin things for you guys, but this part of the RP is just not going to be fun for me, so it's not really grabbing my attention. /butthurt

So, going by the explanation of the Trial, only a maximum of 4 people are going to the next Trial, and you need to complete all the Trials to graduate, right? Assuming that all the Trials are going to happen and they happen "on-screen", what should the people who lost do while the rest of the Trials are going on? Also, could we get a list of whatever classes there may be at the academy?

I'm sorry to hear that. Fortunately, this is probably going to be pretty much the most rule-filled trial of them all, so the others should be more to your style.

No, not only four go on. If all the losers were eliminated, then there would be a maximum of three competitive trials. The way the trials work is that you get points for how well you did, and when the seventh comes around these points influence it.

As for the list of classes, there are three primary combat classes (archery, sword, and unarmed fighting), there's a magic class, a class on demon biology and mentality, several elemental classes, an orb duelling class, and then a class on the Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors of the universe.

[down]I think we should do it once the trials are over, at the earliest. That's when the plot picks up.

Just a sidenote, but you know what would be fun? Tropefying the RPG as we go or after the storyline's finished.

@Speedchesser:

Point 1: It's not rules I have a problem with. Rules can be great. It's just this style of thing. Capture the point is a mode I've played in a lot of other media, and I never really enjoyed it there, so I'm sort of jaded. Still, who knows. Maybe this will be hella different and I'll end up having a lot of fun.

Point 2: Ah, okay. That makes more sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

Point 3: Thanks for putting this up. This will help out a lot.

Point 4: I'd like to apologize for that comment. I went to bed at 2:00 AM so I only got three hours of sleep. I was pretty tired when I typed it up. Still, I shouldn't have said it (or at least not have put it in such an assholeish way). I'm sorry for that.

In reply to point 1: Ah, okay.

In reply to point 4: It didn't come off as rude to me.

I think the "no transformation" rule really doesn't make sense in the context of the place.

Saying no transformations during the tests defeats the purpose of the place, doesn't it? In the first post I said...

Once this is done, they possess the ability to transform into a form that can use powers based off of the element and has an appearance and clothing that is also based off of the element.

It's the transformation that causes the powers, not just having the orb. If you can't transform, then you can't use your element.

So basically, saying no forms is pretty much saying that the orbs are pointless.

Eh, oops. I thought it was an emotional trigger that caused the transformation, which was like a One-Winged Angel form that people had, and that it was the orb that gave them their powers.

It's not a problem. I wasn't exactly clear with my wording.

Yep. Here's a link to the game.

If you're talking about the Trial, though, we - or at least I am - waiting for the teams of 4 to become more cohesive.

I was talking about the Trial. I already knew about the RP.

I believe the teams, so far, are:

  • Andel + Khaine
  • Greg + Billie
  • Megan + Vann

And I guess a few other NP Cs. There are still some P Cs that need to choose teams, though.

I'm a bit confused here. If a member of team A enters team B's zone (when someone of Team B is inside it), then will he/she get instantly knocked out? Because there's this bit here:

If you are in a zone of the arena owned by another team, then you must leave the arena.

Yes, you are disqualified if you step in a zone in which someone of another team stands.

If you enter an area owned by another team and that team has a member inside the area, you're disqualified. If you enter and area owned by another team but they don't have a member inside it, you take that area.

[up] & [up][up] Thanks for the clarification.

Pessimistically speaking, we only have 12-13 characters that are 'active' out of 14 signed chracters (counting Speedchaser's Samantha). And we need 16 people for the game to start... >_>

We could make it 4 groups of 3 instead of 4 groups of 4, I suppose. It's speedchesser's decision tho

Yeah. I suppose we could have the trial called off temporarily and have other stuff happen while we wait for their return.

EDIT: Misinterpreted what you said, sorry. I was incredibly sleep deprived when I originally made this post.

Why don't you create a 'convenient distraction' from the Trial then, say like one of the 'demons' showing up or something. We could use the whole thing with Master Gregory stepping out for a second as a way to introduce that somehow. Just an idea though, you don't have to do it that way.

Pretty much, just have a Chandler's Law moment.

If it's ok with you, I'll put a picture of what I'm basing my character's physical traits off of here, since I doubt many people are checking the signups too much.

Here.

Yeah, that's fine.

I'm hoping to get the currently unprogressable scene over with for now and get the filler story line started as soon as I can, so would it be okay with Limit Removal and Scrounge if I interrupted their exchange with the news of the demon?
