The initial OP posted below covers it well enough: the premise of this thread is that men's issues exist. Don't bother posting if you don't believe there is such a thing.
Here's hoping this isn't considered too redundant. I've noticed that our existing threads about sexism tend to get bogged down in Oppression Olympics or else wildly derailed, so I thought I'd make a thread specifically to talk about discrimination issues that disproportionately affect men.
No Oppression Olympics here, okay? No saying "But that's not important because women suffer X which is worse!" And no discussing these issues purely in terms of how much better women have it. Okay? If the discussion cannot meaningfully proceed without making a comparison to male and female treatment, that's fine, but on the whole I want this thread to be about how men are harmed by society and how we can fix it. Issues like:
- The male-only draft (in countries that have one)
- Circumcision
- Cavalier attitudes toward men's pain and sickness, AKA "Walk it off!"
- The Success Myth, which defines a man's desirability by his material success. Also The Myth of Men Not Being Hot, which denies that men can be sexually attractive as male beings.
- Sexual abuse of men.
- Family law.
- General attitudes that men are dangerous or untrustworthy.
I could go on making the list, but I think you get the idea.
Despite what you might have heard about feminists not caring about men, it's not true. I care about men. Patriarchy sucks for them as much as it sucks for women, in a lot of ways. So I'm putting my keyboard where my mouth is and making a thread for us to all care about men.
Also? If you're male and think of something as a men's issue, by golly that makes it a men's issue fit for inclusion in this thread. I might disagree with you as to the solution, but as a woman I'm not going to tell you you have no right to be concerned about it. No "womansplaining" here.

If someone is falsely accusing someone of rape the answer isn't to dismiss them as an attention seeking fraud but to sit them down and find out why they're doing that, ESPECIALLY if it's your damn kid, and ESPECIALLY since it was on a one-on-one basis and not some sort of mid-act conspiracy.

Human sexuality virtually starts when people, including children, realize what their genitals are for.
The issue is when adults exploit children in the wake of their sexual identity for personal fulfillment. This is not if children are able to or not to consent but if they understand the implication of their consent. Older people can persuade children into giving them their consent as children are not mature enough to understand their choices on the matter.
If I recall correctly the minimum age for marriage in Mexico is 12, the consent age in most western countries varies from 16-18 years old, which would be considered late teens to early twenties, as it is expected for them to already have higher reasoning.
But WTF! Which kind of pervert would want to justify engaging in sexual acts with pre-teens and disguise it as a men's issue? Maybe some children are more mentally developed than others, but sometimes putting an arbitrary line on where it is allowed to do something and where is not is a best solution to prevent certain people to claim their acts should be allowed because their are the exception to the rule.
If the person is emotionally engaged with a minor, wait until said minor is legal. If being a minor is the reason for the "emotional engagement" this person belongs to the jail.

What I'm saying is that when a misogynist with a profoundly skewed understanding of rape says that there's a problem with false rape accusations, he's not a reliable source and there's little reason to take his concerns seriously. It's not that he's the greater problem, it's that his biases reduce the odds on him experiencing a second problem to begin with.

Regarding MRA's and ephebophilia, it's not even about wanting to go back to old time patriarchal values (particularly since even in medieval Europe, marriages involving girls under a certain age where an exception not the rule). What it's really about, at least if my experiences on FSTDT are any indicator, is that we are dealing with losers here. Losers who cannot "score" with women their own age, and who accordingly, want a larger pool of females to draw from. Essentially these guys are so desperate to get laid that they'll support anything that provides them with more women to try and get in the sack, even if that requires victimising teenage and preteen girls.
In short, it's not even that they're all attracted to children, it's that they're too lame to have a shot with anybody older. Which is, at least in my opinion, even more pathetic and disgusting.

Pedophilia is a sexual attraction to children.

Ephebophilia isn't even accepted as a term in many psychiatric cycles. I mean, if being attracted to 16-17 year olds is considered a paraphilia, then like 99% of the male population is made up of ephebophiles. Not to mention all those college seniors dating freshmen.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.
Whether or not they're different doesn't really matter. Having sex with an underage person is statutory rape regardless of whether they're 10 or 15.
In America, yes. Don't forget that 15 is accepted in plenty of European countries.
