I liked what I bought of Nova, but I had to stop when I lost my job and funds were low...never picked it back up but there's trades I guess.

I also think it's kinda of a low blow to bring up all the Sam Loeb stuff, I see it all the time from comic fans and I hate it immensely.

Cool article from CBR about the Spider-Verse and the titles launching. As much as I didn't like Lowe editing X-Men, I think he's propelling the Spider-Man stuff and expanding it outside of Peter Parker is great.

Add me in the likes Sam crowd. What can I say, his book is fun. Also, while I did like Loeb's and Wells's runs, it definitely improved under Duggan. I hope that Duggan sticks around for a long time.

WRT Richard not getting brought back, well unfortunately that has to do with the fact that the other three characters who died all got movie deals, and Thanos was already a popular character to begin with. Thanos was ALWAYS going to come back and getting movie deals just clinched it for Star-Lord and Drax. It sucks but that's the reality of the business.

Hey they're once again trying to convince us that they're blowing up the Ultimate universe. And just a year after the last event!

Can you talk about which characters in the Marvel cosmic side of the universe you’re considering that are on your radar to maybe do solo films outside of the Guardians?'

FEIGE: To do solo films?

Yeah are you looking to do Nova? Which characters might be of interest right now?

FEIGE: I think if Guardians works the way we certainly hope it works that would probably be the franchise to meet a lot of those people. That would be our entrance into numerous other cosmic folk. If we spin any of those out into individual movies – that’s a question for down the line. But I think we would see those kind of characters in a future Guardians movie.

Edit: Is anything in the Ultimate verse still good aside from Spider-Man?

Bendis just clarified on his blog despite the "The End" bullshit Ultimate Spider-Man is not cancelled.

Ultimate Spider-Man will never be cancelled. Bendis will still be writing it twenty years after the grave.

@ Mega J: That's an interesting thing to point out because Tiamatty and I were having a PM conversation the other day and he pointed out that the main Spidey book took a noticeable dip in quality almost as soon as he took over. It was only after he came in that all Peter's love interests dumped him, for instance. So Lowe is pushing the "side" Spider-people, but not handling Peter himself very well.

Make of that what you will, I guess.

An opinion on Spider-Verse and Hickman's New Avengers also DC is doing something too I guess.

Writers do seem to enjoy messing with Peter's life, and sometimes other Spider-characters. Since Peter is the "everyman hero," some of the more egregious instances of this (like OMD) have actually been interpreted as stealth insults to the fanbase.

I get the feeling one day, 616 Peter will die, and then Mephisto will show up and say, "Sorry, kid, you haven't suffered enough yet. That, and someone else sold their marriage to me to get you back among the living. What can I say, I like collecting wedding rings."

Oh, that reminds me, did you know there were a lot of strange Mephisto-related rumors during the late '00s? Every time a new story came out, someone would guess Mephisto would play a major role, or even claim to have heard he would be showing up. Many of these rumors centered on Norman Osborn, who was, of course, fairly prominent during that period, having sold his soul to Mephisto for some reason, making the latter the Bigger Bad behind Dark Reign and sometimes even the entire SRA Myth Arc.

There's a two-page preview of Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and it's amazing. "Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl! She's a human, and also squirrel!" It's already one of my favourite comics and it's not even out yet.

Ah yes...Dark Reign.

I dunno, would the Mepisto Dunnit angle be better than going the direction they went?

I know it's temporary, but I'm really gonna hate it when Kingsley goes back to being evil.

I hope Carnage's heel face turn is handled half as well, and that his announced appearance in Nova isn't an indication of a near-immediate reset button push.

i dont think he is. we know some inversions like tony, loki and sabertooth are sticking.

Nothing is permanent in comics.

It won't necessarily go back to where it was before, but give it a few years, and it will have gone somewhere.

The inversion is why Tony's becoming a dick? Huh.

So I just read the first issue of the '90s Ghost Rider series, with Dan Ketch as the star. Kinda meh. One interesting thing is that it did in one (double-sized) issue what would generally take a full arc today. However, I feel like part of its efficiency was a bit of a "tell, don't show" approach to the early pages. Today, a similar story would be stretched out in part because there'd be more emphasis on exploring the characters, rather than just quickly introducing them and moving on to Ninjas vs. Gangsters vs. Flame-Headed Biker.

It seems Beyonder will be showing up in New Avengers. He's pretty cool; I approve. There's been some guesses he's the Great Destroyer.
