Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI hope Spencer borrows more from his work on Superior Foes than from Captain America. The former is better than the latter.
That’s what I am betting on the first time I heard this rumor.
But if he is going to use all the bs writing from his Captain America books and Secret Empire, well the least he could do is make Peter Parker into an Objectivist since that would at least be true to what the creator (Steve Ditko) have in mind with the character and his stories.

He'll shake his fist at protestors again. It will be terrible.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat’s why I say if he goes with his writing style for the Captain America books. If he’s going to piss off people, at least piss us off that stays true to the character.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Yeah but I said Peter Parker, not Otto Octavius . . . wonder how long will I keep up suggesting this idea. Oh right, until somebody realize I’m not being entirely serious.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133Nick Spencer is more than Secret Empire. There's nothing that Peter does that's inherently political so I think Spencer will be fine writing for him. He wrote a pretty good Ant-Man book, so I would imagine it's in the same vein.
Before, he hadn't written a widely hated book that he didn't respond well towards criticism towards. I'm not saying that he's going to start injecting shitty politics or taking cheap shots at his hatedom in Spider-Man, but if he didn't, I wouldn't be surprised. Really, after Hydra Cap, I just don't want him writing at Marvel anymore, and I'm surprised they kept him around after all the controversy.
Oh God! Natural light!I'm fucking shocked that after causing the biggest Marvel PR nightmare in years, they reward him with their flagship title.
My various fanfics. While Nick Spencer had his part, Marvel Editorial was largely also responsible for marketing the event and asking comic book stores to turn their stores in Hydra hangouts and also being tone deaf to the criticism and not downplaying the event or marketing it differently.
Not that I also don't think it was overblown. I get it, Trump was elected President and we started to see the white supremacists come out the woodwork and then Charlottesville but I really think the vitriol was misplaced. I just can't worked up about a fake villain organization being like the Nazis like the twitterverse.
Honestly, the thing that would disappoint me most about Spencer taking over ASM is just how predictable it is.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Like, he should have been put in charge of Mosaic or something else like that. "And if you can go a whole six months without having the Po C hero decide that the job's too hard and to leave it to massa, we'll see about letting you write 'Guardians' or something."
My various fanfics. How is Spencer on Spider-Man predictable?
Well Mosaic isn't a legacy character who will eventually give the mantle back to his predecessor so that helps.

The two names I saw pop up most often in terms of who will be the next ASM writer are Spencer and Duggan. Pretty much everyone expects Spencer to take it over. That's been the speculation for months. And that was the speculation for a reason. He was the obvious choice, given his history at Marvel.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. You know, I have a theory as to why Spencer's Cap turned out the way it did. (In part, anyway.) Everyone knows that Spencer started out writing for Captain Falcon, right? From what I've read of the first year or two of that, it actually wasn't bad, and I'm guessing Spencer didn't have a problem with writing Sam. Then another Captain Steve movie was on the horizon, and Marvel forced him to either write a book with Steve or they'd get someone else to do it. Well, Spencer didn't want to write Steve. As far as he was concerned, (and keep in mind, this is purely speculation,) Cap was some boring goody-goody one-note character from the 40's he didn't want anything to do with outside of cameos. I mean, who actually liked this guy? Hell, all you had to do was take a good look at him and see he might as well have been an embodiment of the Aryan id— Hey, wait a minute...
Anyway, one thing led to another and he decided to write Captain Steve after all, doing what was in his honest opinion the only remotely interesting thing you could do with the character while also spiting everyone clamouring for him. "You want Steve? Here's your fucking Steve! Now start reading more Sam, damn it!"

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSpencer honestly strikes me as a conservative in the literal sense - someone who wishes to maintain the current status quo. By comparison Trump and others like him are more properly reactionaries, because they want to return to an earlier status quo (my beloved hush school European History teacher taught me this distinction).
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I thought Hydra Steve was some story that was supposed to happen in Remender's run in a story about Hydra infiltrating SHIELD.
When Nick Spencer was running for public office in Cincinnati, he had a conservative platform if that means anything.
In this day and age, it means a lot.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI read Captain Falcon and thought the video game character.
The Protomen enhanced my life. From what I remember reading, Spencer is an ex-Bush Republican who started drifting leftward only recently after seeing how reactionary and violent the mainstream American right was becoming. So he does try, but he's still probably not all that enlightened in his political views. Probably he hasn't actually settled his personal political identity yet, and that's why his attempts at politics are so awkward.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I think going from one view from another doesn't' always changes how extreme you can be.
It's more that he tries so hard to be seen as politically deep, but won't commit to presenting whatever his actual views are. So he aggressively bothsides about anything. Like in Captain Samerica, he had "rich people are evil and corrupt" and "but arresting any of them somehow destroys the economy" in the same breath.
He's so passionate about promoting complete and total inaction about anything he should be a Green Lantern Guardian.
