Even the Phineas & Ferb Marvel special handled the power mix-up plot point better.

[up] Funny, I was going to mentioned that but didn't since all it was just switching powers instead of bodies and it was played for laughs (also the whole fact Iron Man's suit is a super power, seriously Iron Man is the last Marvel Hero to loose his "super powers"; have we not learn anything from "Powerless").

[up]I still never get tired of the stupidity in Powerless. Apparently being really smart and having a high-tech armor count as a superpower, but being so good with a bow that you never miss your target doesn't. This is all kind of silly.

[up] Yeah the only way that plot could have worked is:

1. If it just taking away abilities that define the characters (think of the season 5 opening episodes of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic)

2. If Stark is a mutant like in the Ultimate Universe where he is essentially that universe's Forge.

3. Not. AT. ALL!

Pretty much, yeah.

Oh, by the way, I kinda wonder why they felt the need to have Antman go so they could start season 3 with the movie base cast again. I mean, why do that exactly? It can't eve qualify as trying to stick with the movies this time, since by now the Avengers' line-up in the MCU has considerably changed...

Their Ant-Man ended up being nothing like the movie so they just shrugged and threw him in the dumpster?

[up][up]Yeah, I noticed. When Tony Stark heard about a random teenager in pajamas fighting crime through youtube videos, but not about you, you know you have it bad^^

[up]But he WAS like in the movie! The only thing he had that really was different was that his mouth was visible. Granted, I'd love if they gave him his full-face mask like in the movie, but that was an easy fix, they didn't need to have him go away for that!

I don't think he meant design-wise, but the rest wise. Like the fact that he was a Science Hero.

All I can say is that the writing process for the show is weird, just to explain why they write out Ant-Man. One minute it wants to be its own thing creating original story lines and characterization, and the next minute (when a Marvel movie comes out) the characters and plot are ripped right out of the movie. Ant-Man is a pretty good example as initially his identity wasn't given but is implied to be Hank Pym based on his science background, and then when the movie is released "Hi, I'm Scott!"

Though as of recently with Age of Ultron released and Civil War drawing near, that logic I implied is out of the window seeing how Antman is Put on the Bus even though he is promoted in the movie like the other Avengers. Though it begs the question why haven't Vision, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver appear yet? I know Quicksilver is dead but seeing how in this universe Whiplash, Ronan, and freaking Ultron are alive he might as well appear as well. Maybe they're just holding off said character once the Civil War story arc arrive (again).

[up] That would of made sense if said Ant-Man was Hank Pym.

With Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver it might be a rights issue that Marvel would rather not bother with.

Vision is supposed to be appearing in this season (as is Kamala) but probably only as single episode guest appearances.

[up] Assemble Ant-Man had Scott's criminal background but was nothing really like movie Scott personality wise.

Its a shame once again that DOING IT LIKE THE MOVIE would actually work if they actually went about it with any effort. Movie-based Scott with grumpy Pym and Wasp Hope as supporting cast could be amazing.

[up][up][up]Like if they cared about this. They gave Ultron his movie design but he STILL acts like his usual cold self rather than the quippy one. I doubt they are subtle enough to care about that sort of detail.

[up][up]I know right? Jeez, it's almost as if caring more about promoting the movie than being its own thing was a bad idea!

[up]Kamala is confirmed? I would say that's good new, but considering how it turned out with the Thunderbolts, I am a bit worried to see another character I like showing up on this show...

She was confirmed and I think she appeared on the end of season map last seasion along with I thiiiiiink Black Panther, Vision, and Captain Marvel.

None of which have shown up so far this season.

And they condensed the Thunderbolts plot beyond any sense so. Yeah. I'm not optimistic.

Sigh God am I tired of these Marvel cartoons being lazy as hell yet still getting enough viewers to keep getting more seasons somehow...

@Bocaj: I'm not sure if there are rights issues since Wolverine has shown up in all three shows at some point, though I might be wrong.

Of course, then again, Wolverine is the only X-Men I know that has appeared in all the shows with certainty.

Agree with Bocaj on that doing it like the movies comment. Which is funny, part of my fanfic idea for a Revisioned Marvel was that among the Avengers founding line up it includes said Grumpy Old Hank Pym and Hope Wasp (with certain characteristic borrowed from Earth's Mightiest Heroes). Scott Lang Ant-Man will appear later on after the first story arc as part of "Cap's Kooky Quartet" (though 5, but the whole point there is four of the members have criminal past).

And again, times like these make me wonder why this show isn't like Got G. That show found a good balance in being original and taking elements from the movies (which funny enough seems to also be hinting at what the sequel's plot will be given that whole Spartax Story Arc).

Yeah, it could easily be classified as just filler. Plus the plot seems like a rehash of the Casket of Ancient Winter episode on the Magic vs. Science debate (just replace Thor with Dr. Strange). Also isn't it weird that they would air essentially a good Halloween episode months before Halloween?

Actually, after seeing latest Marvel movie, I'm pretty sure cartoon will just ignore that version of Zemo, for the same reasons their Falcon still throws energy feathers rather then using guns.

Who knows. They had no issue about reintroducing Klaue like a completely different character despite his comic book self already showing up in USM.

Yeah, but a) Klaw was never important in this cartoon and b) they at least gave him his sound arm thing. When Guardians changed, they mostly got new looks and new more actual personalities. Movie Zemo is just too normal to be put in cartoon.

MOVIE SPOILERS He never wears any outfit, he isn't member of Hydra or anything, doesn't have any quirks or skills and his motivation is just depressing. Once you kidify it, he just kind hates Avengers and that's not new. Even when modern cartoon base themselves on movies, they generally never do that at expense of character "superness" so to speak. Even super duper movie like Guardians have Star-Lord use his elemental gun.

[up] True. And the one key reason they definitely won't use the movie Zemo in this show is also the main reason I like that Zemo: he win in the end.

Zemo in that film is some average joe with incredible amount of planning and reasonable amount of hatred towards his enemies, emphasis on reasonable. This portrayal completely subverts my expectation of the guy, but unlike Mandarin it was done in a good way.

With a show like Avengers Assemble I least expect the writers to have a villain with such complex motives and realistic character depth as well as gain a victory over the heroes in the long run. I mean this isn't Gargoyles or something Disney XD should air again on their channel. Adapting that Zemo would be like making Kang the Conqueror into Nox from Wakfu (right down to the very depressing villain motive).
