I agree. While the current is a good one, the suggestion is clearly better.
The only thing I can say against it is that toon may be considered a race in itself, in which case it wouldn't be an example, even if it looks like it.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.... ah, okay then. Well, another alternative might be to go with Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally the Squirrel.
Here's one option.◊
Here's another...

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI'd prefer to have an image other than cartoon characters, because cartoons are filled with characters of different species interacting with each other and such, and only very rarely do the implications of the trope come into play.
Not of cartoon characters? What are we going to use instead, then, live action interspecies romance? o.o

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartSure. Maybe something from fantasy or science fiction?
The idea is that an image that isn't Toon would be ideal. It can still be from something animated, but not Classic Disney Shorts-style stuff.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!I prefer Roger Rabbit out of all the suggestions thus far.
Except that according to one of the posts in this thread, it's actually treated in-universe as more along the lines of interracial romance. That's not enough to disqualify it altogether, but I think we should keep looking for another while.
Would crushes that aren't yet mutual but might have room to go somewhere count? (Spike's crush on Rarity from MLP:FIM was the next example to come to mind.)

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartActually, In-Universe, Roger and Jessica are actually treated as both the same race and species. They're both toons.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAnd that's the problem with the Sonic one, and many other cartoon examples: People don't see them as different species, but just toons who happen to look like an animal that represents them, which is also basically how they're usually treated.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.... so how in the hell are we going to picture this, then?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartWell, the current isn't that bad...
This◊ is a good example, though.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.In-context it's a great example, but out of context it looks more like the dragon sees the donkey as a pet.
Perhaps the Jessica and Roger Rabbit option may be a better one after all. o.o
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThat's what I was looking for.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. Is there one with the hybrid babies in scene too?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I like 16. Their babies might add unnecessary clutter to the pic.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead? We can mention them in the caption "You should see their kids."
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Proposing the caption is potholed to hybrid monster.

If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?16 is good.
I like the expressions in 16; I prefer it to the other images.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.16 for various wins.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!A couple more votes and we can run with it.
First and foremost, is that rule about images going on subpages instead of the main page still in place? If so, how strictly does it apply?
Anyway, assuming for now that this article will be an exception, the current image is okay, but it's a little vague (it looks sort of like she sees him as a pet) and the image quality is grainy. The following is higher-quality, indicates romance at least a little more clearly, and was recommended for this trope in the thread for Ugly Guy, Hot Wife.
