Real life images are inappropriate when they call a real, living person ugly.
What about Baron and Baroness Bomburst from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? A couple images that come up on a GIS are this and this, which are a bit low on the "ugly", and this, in which he's trying to strangle her using her hair. I can't find a good-quality shot from the end of "Chu Chi Face" when they're being all couple-y, sadly.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I wouldn't say they're necessarily always inappropriate, it just depends on what the reasons are in favour of doing so. In this case I don't think the reasons are strong enough.
The "ugly" part only applies very mildly to that. He seems more like a fairly normal-looking middle-aged man.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartAgreed. He doesn't look ugly to me, just older than her.
That's a good one.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!I like that one, both for the characters' appearances and their expressions!
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Wh... what was wrong with the Daioh one again?
I think that one get the point across well. It's an old guy, not hideous, but definitely not a sex symbol either. His wife is easy on the eyes. She may not be attractive in the sexual sense, but she's pretty. She's cute. She looks a lot younger than he is. it gets the point across.
The guy in Brave doesn't exactly look butt-ugly. He looks kind of average looking, and we specifically mentioned to stay away from that. Who knows, he looks kind of manly. (Of course, I'm a guy, so I can't tell these things.)

Evil is my favorite color.I like it also. The contrast is not as exaggerated ugly/hot as possible, but it is definitely there.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The guy in the Azumanga Daioh one looks a lot more average than the Brave one to me. I honestly think there's a bigger contrast in the Brave poster.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn! The brave one is kind of good looking, actually, due to Generic Cuteness or whatever the equivalence is for men. However, he has such a goofy expression I think the picture still works.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I like the Brave one.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I wouldn't necessarily call the guy in the Brave pic "ugly", but the contrast is enough that I'd support the pic...it's better than anything else that's been proposed.

I'm for a crowner.
Im for the Brave image.
I can't decide between that and the Azumanga one.
Could we get a slightly taller crop of the Brave one?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Very good.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! That works. He's not horribly ugly, but there's enough contrast that it works.
Reaction Image RepositoryI like the Brave pic. Do we really need a crowner?

No, it's got enough consensus with the last coupla votes that we can run with it.
EDIT: It's up, potholed, and tagged; I think it says enough on its own, but if anyone wants to add a caption, go for it. Locking up.

That doesn't mean that "real life images" will always be banned, just that someone can make clear to those viewing the thread from the board that "real life image" is the reason for the thread.
