I wouldn't call it a genre so much as technique, a style, an anti-style or (as the page calls it) an art form. But either way, it's no more a work than Dada itself, "survival horror", or "Eli Roth films".

Most of them are already on some meme list somewhere. At least the most prominent ones such as the Legend of Zelda CD-i Games, Hotel Mario, Mama Luigi, etc.

Characters.You Tube Poop needs a major cleanup. No two poopers do the exact same thing to any given character, so most of this is Depending on the Pooper. Also, nearly everyone has been YTP'd at this point, so this character list is just redundant.
