Queen's Blade (Feedback Needed):

Queen's Blade... hm. Oh, what to do with this one...

Now, admittedly, I'm not too familiar with this work, but from what I've seen, if it isn't straight-up pornographic, it's very fanservicey. However, since I'm always for a second opinion, I would like to hear you guys' thoughts on what we should do with this page. In other words, should we scrap or should we keep?

Watching videos of the games on youtube gives the impression that they're a hair racier than DOA, but not that bad. I can't tell you about the rest of it.

I've heard the anime is your regular fantasy fighter plot, but with MOAR fanservice.

Wikipedia classifies it as action, adventure and fantasy, not ecchi.

From an outsider's viewpoint, it looks like Soulcalibur if you take out the male characters.

I've mostly seen just images of the female characters, not all of it even official, but from what I can tell the "Soul Calibur without dudes" comparison is pretty accurate, and to be honest I like some of the character designs. I bet Shima can guess which character I like in particular.

I kinda feel a little biased on this one so I'll be relying on the other 5P members to guide influence my vote.

I bet I can.

The Anime is licensed in the US by Media Blasters and one of the biggest sellers in the US, censored versions aired on Japanese TV too.

It really does seem very Sword and Sorcery, or Soul Calibur without the dudes.

Just don't judge it based on the figurines! You can watch it on hulu, but...

I'll also echo the "Soul Calibur but without the dudes" comment. Not my thing, but it's also not porn.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
Is it sort of like Dead or Alive ? a lot of boobs and horrible outfits, but not porno?

Yep, pretty much. Just more fantasy and less ninja.

From the sound of it, it's like if you crossed DOA with Soul Calibur. You've got a primarily female cast, in a medieval setting.

EDIT: There are less ninjas because they are all in here, apparently.

I haven't followed Queen's Blade too closely, but nothing of what I've seen thus far has seemed blatantly pornographic.

The page itself could use a bit of a clean-up, since there are a good many broken mangafox links in the examples section. Otherwise, I don't see where any drastic action needs to be taken here.

Having watched the first anime series and most of the second, I'll go ahead and mention all the relevant information I can think of:

Gratuitous nudity in every episode. Occasionally censored, usually with Scenery Censor. No visible genitalia. No explicit sex acts are depicted, but there are some naughty tentacles, mostly used on Nyx by her evil sentient magic staff.

There are two significant 'child' characters who are occasionally involved in the fanservice. The Dwarf princess Ymir (who, predictably enough, is Really 700 Years Old and uses the usual "old man" speech modes) gives several PantyShots, but very little beyond that. Cattleya's young son Lana is smothered a few times, and accidentally sees Leina naked once (in almost exactly the same circumstances as the famous scene from NYPD Blue). Aldra is also childlike, but involved in even less significant material than Ymir.

Melpha's magic involves striking "holy poses" which, predictably, involve exposing herself almost completely.

At one point, several nameless men are clearly about to rape Nowa before Alleyne arrives and saves her.

I think we're mostly talking about the game at this point.

Spiral Chaos? From the looks of it, pretty much just deformed versions of the cast like Tekken, but in something that resembles Super Robot Wars. Still, all of the information we have on the page is on the anime, and that isn't exactly the most pristine thing to show on a site.

It was a gamebook before it was anything else.

Yes, I can read the first sentence. The gamebooks are mentioned all but eight times, I am pretty sure those are not the main focus of the page.

II
However, they can be the focus of the page. It's up to the council to decide what happens to it, but I'm given to understand that axeing the entire thing is currently off the table.

I am also somewhat familiar with the gamebooks by discussion and frequent posting of their artwork on Image Boards, although not from my own experience. They seem to be exactly as explicit as the anime: nudity but no exposed genitalia.

Why the game books either? They are pretty much just sixty or so pages (at least Reina and Airi are, but pretty sure the rest are in that area) of the characters in flashy and revealing poses.

^ Pretty much, yes.

Okay, with everyone's posts in mind, would the option of "keeping, cleaning and locking" be a good choice?
Agreed. Locking probably isn't even necessary, really.

I'd be fine with a simple clean up with no lock. It can always be locked in the future if necessary.

Shouldn't it be treated similarly to works like Eiken, though? No sex, sure, but definitely perverse (although not quite to the ugly extreme that Eiken goes too), but it doesn't seem to mesh with the whole "family friendly" deal.

Eiken didn't get cut because of excessive fanservice. It got cut because it's as close to Porn Without Plot as is possible without having any actual sex.
