Name: Saltire, Amnesiac Gunman

Physical Appearance: Average in height and build, but with that set on the shoulders and the particular kind of walk that tells you he is a determined individual. He usually wears a black full facial bandana. However, given enough incentive to remove his mask, a plainly handsome face of deeply mixed Caucasian ancestry is revealed to the world. He also happens to be the proud owner ice blue eyes which are often narrowed and wary. He keeps his brown hair short and carefully swept back, given how his mask is usually slipped over his head.

He appears to own only one particular outfit. A white long-sleeved button-down shirt and red tie over which is worn a black vest with a red saltire motif on both sides and the back, as well as on the bandana. He favors black trousers and boots of black leather, as well as a pair of belts worn crossways on his waist. The buckle on the front-most belt depicts a stylized depiction of a lizard◊. Completing his ensemble is a black bowler hat, a pair of black gloves and a pair of holsters; one near his left bicep, the other a concealed and improvised lower-back holster.

Personality: Dry, lackadaisical and possessing a sense of gallows humor that gets him through the day, especially of all the weirdness he has come to put up with as he tries to find his memories. A deeply determined individual who keeps his goal in mind, but easily roped into helping others.

Powers: Saltire is a gunslinger of passable to above-average skill who favors revolvers, particularly the Webley Mk. VI Revolver, and a short-form lever action shotgun. His real talent appears to lie in gunsmithing and engineering, able to assemble and re-assemble, maintain, repair and identify most forms of conventional (and some extra-conventional) small arms with an ease that puts most professionals to shame. It gets to a point where he can improvise tools, weapons and even parts from any materials he can scrounge or carry.

But the pride of his achievements rests on Señora, a handle-carried guitar case of many surprises. Its most obvious feature is a concealed sentry turret built into the wider body of the case and capable of basic autonomy and target recognition. Its construction is noticeably versatile and can be configured for most types of engagements, provided that Saltire has the prep time and necessary hardware. The current load-out of armament is a semi-automatic to full-automatic gun that fires .303 rounds.

Señora also has a built-in grappling winch and has been fitted with an automatic speed-loading mechanism for any revolver that Saltire happens to be carrying. Another feature is that it appears to have a basic (and unbelievably robust) form of skimmer technology to help with the obvious weight problems.

A drawback to the weapon is that concentrated small arms fire, handheld explosives or even impact can disable it. This is offset by Saltire's engineering prowess, taking him the course of a few hours to bring the whole mechanism back to complete functionality and form. Its current incarnation is a battered leather case with the name "Señora" picked out in faded golden cursive on the front.

Other Skills: In the course of his investigations, Saltire has found himself to be an able hand-to-hand combatant, ambidextrous and fluent in various European languages while passable in certain Asian ones. He has the stamina and training of your average SWAT officer and capable of driving most forms of wheeled transport and piloting certain aircraft.

Background/Origin: If Saltire knew who he was, he may not be glad to tell you. Since waking up in a rundown flat in the worst part of the Soho District, with no clue who he was and with a mask and a weaponized guitar case nearby he's been running and fighting for his life for halfway around the world on a quest to determine his true identity. From what he gathers from the ferocity (during a block-wide gun-battle in Naples, someone had deployed what appeared to be a power-armored behemoth against him) of the infrequent attacks, he must've been someone pretty important.

Or pissed off someone who was.

All his findings all lead to a certain organization with roots in Megalopolis, the infamous "city of heroes". Beating off an ambush in the alleys of Dublin, Saltire makes his way to Megalopolis to find his true identity, figure out why he's being targeted...

And maybe even pay them back for a life lived on the run...

Miscellaneous Notes: Saltire is fond of comics, as his belt buckle was inspired by El Hombre Del Lagarto, an adversary of The Goon.

Also, like a certain other comic book hero, Saltire often underestimates the strangeness his unseen adversaries send at him. To date, he has fought off bounty hunters, a circus-themed assassin cult, various low-tier metahumans, squads of paramilitary operatives (owners of the powered armor mentioned earlier) and a femme fatale with access and a fondness for superheavy tanks.

Actually, he keeps several suits of the above-mentioned outfit. It seemed appropriate.

I'm going to guess kkhohoho isn't around... Anyway, I don't see any major problems with Engin- I mean, Saltire.

Just one question: is he Hispanic, or Caucasian? Your description is a little vague on that.

• Name: Jay Edison (Clown Kid)
• Side: Unregistered
• Physical Appearance: 10 years old, worn out jacket, clown mask, on top of a gimp mask, blue backpack, large shirt, with a frowning face, green eyes, Brown hair, pale skin.
• Personality: Despite his enigmatic presence, first impressions of a school bomber, and questionable methods, Jay is an idealistic soul, who sincerely wants to help out in making the city a better place. Unfortunately for him, his means to an end usually result to a lot of collateral damage, which results in distrust among the police. His ridiculous (But true) claims of ridding the streets of "invisible people" and "were-bats" doesn't exactly help either. The only reason he is unregistered is because of his detachment from reality, and blissful ignorance.
• Powers: Heightened perception, slightly heightened agility, and a faster thought process(He can comprehend things, and acquire a firm grasp of a situation much more quickly than a normal person). Explanation for that last one; A good comedian can deliver rapid fire witty puns, on the fly.
• Other Skills
  • He can create a variety of explosives.
  • Let him explore for awhile, and he will know that place from the inside out.
  • He makes a mean pasta, if you give him the materials.
• Backstory: The stories of heroes conquering all odds, and the outrageous tales spun on the tabloids, this provided much comfort to the neglected, mistreated Jay Edison. The triumphant, epic tales gave such delightful escapism from harsh verbal abuse, bruises and spankies, brought to you by Duncan and Liza Edison. What made this sad is that Jay himself was a special young boy, with a quick thinking mind, and incredible wisdom for his age. One day, the boy had had enough of it all, and left the boondocks with his guide to explosives, and clown mask, to make a name for himself. Had his situation been a little more different, that the the future of his boy could have been brighter. But instead, the misguided youth unwittingly plunges himself into the world of the superhuman, which he will quickly discover to be not as great as it sounds...

• Background/Origin: There are other worlds as everyone knows, and in one of these various worlds a god was cursed by the other gods to be bound by human thoughs. Its mind was warped to the ideas of humans and its powers gradually became more limited as humans began to forget about it. It began to transform into other individuals to fit the ideas and eventually grew tired enough that it caused the memories to cease tranfering from one to another. In the 1960s it became Mr. Cliche an individual who knew only that it came from another individual who died. During his time he swapped from being an anti hero and being a crime boss. Eventually even Mr. Cliche sucumbed and died at the end of the era. In the 2000s research was done on a new form of energy that was found emitting from an individual. Experiments were done and an accident occured causing most of the incarnations to exist at the same time. The accident also lead to the curse to work in reverse and affect the people that influenced. Sometime after the accident Mr. Cliche fell into a rift in the temporal fabric of reality leading to him finding himself here.

• Miscellaneous Notes: Mr. cliche has no memory of being a god. It is unknown were and who the voices are from. He is very weak against advertisements. Since this isn't about him he would not have plot armor. His powers don't mentally affect players, but give a legitimate reason as to why the laws of physics work the way they do in super hero worlds. If you were to remove his mask you would find that instead of a face you would find a strange blue and green glowing dust in the crude shape of a face lacking any defined details.

Nah, I meant like, if you look at the previous signups, they all have bullets in order to differentiate lines. For example, your "Other Skills" section runs on into your "Background/Origin" section. Using bullets would make it like this:

• Physical description: An early 30's man with a Lantern Jaw of Justice, Perma-Stubble, and light brown Badass Long Hair to his shoulders. His uniform consists of safety goggles, motorcycle helmet, a leather jacket, a blue T-shirt like a cyclist's, black jeans, and workboots.
• Personality: At heart, Judge Taylor is a decent man with a strong devotion to upholding and preserving order. However, the circumstances that brought him into this mess have loosened one or two of his screws, making him trigger happy, obsessed with his enemies, and a bit arrogant.
• Powers: Judge Taylor's powers include hyperprecise aim with guns, enhanced combat reflexes, and immunity to bullets and electricity.
• Other skills: Judge Taylor has full police training in all areas and is capable of being on SWAT or being a detective if he chooses. He is also an expert on becoming an expert at things.
• Background/Origin: Sydney Taylor was an experienced cop by the age of 33. He'd spent his life in New Mexico upholding the law. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked a group of Air Force pilots turned street thugs called Mach 54 tore through the state. From the ruins of Albuquerque rose the city of New Justice, which then recruited the finest cops in the state to form a group of Judges with the power to punish crimes on the spot. Judge Taylor made a nemesis out of Mach 54's leader, Alex Day. For seven months the two men waged physical and psychological war on each other until finally Day came out victorious by getting Taylor arrested for committing aggravated battery. With Taylor framed for a crime he didn't commit, he was forced to leave New Justice. Now an exile in Megalopolis, Judge Taylor sees the city as his best ticket to revenge against Mach 54.
• Miscellaneous: I fully encourage that the GM bring in Mach 54 as antagonists, not just to Judge Taylor but to the city as a whole.

Now, as for Philosopher; good to see you again, since our last RP together. However, I can't accept your entry just yet. Your character's main power is too powerful and broad. I'm going to have you have to change that. Sorry about that, but if you want, I can help you there.

Now, as a notice to new players; seeing as players are still joining up, I'm going to start working on a Recap, which I will put in the first post. In addition, I've also started an event that, hopefully, will allow new players to jump right in on some action. (Ironically, it began with a character that a previous players had long abandoned.) Actually, the event's going to involve facing off against a slew of characters that previous players (mostly ones that joined up at the beginning, but left just days after,) abandoned, but have been brainwashed, and will be the first 'big battle' in the RP. (Second if you count the Prison Escape as this.) So, now you know. And knowing's only half the battle!
