Okay, I just read a fanfic recommended from our fanfic recs page.

...I have to say, I am seriously disturbed. The fic was well written, true, but it presented a highly dysfunctional relationship between Amon and Korra, culminating in rape by deception. And Korra forgives him for it and plans to chase him down and... I don't know? Redeem and start a relationship with a man more than twice her age who's responsible for lots of death? What?

This would be fine if the work treated this as disturbing as it is, but the impression I got was the the writer intended for it to be seen as romantic, and the comments for the fic suggest most of the audience thought so, too.

Serious WTF-ery. I will never understand shipping.

Have to admit that I did find that much more readable than the Abuse Cycle. (Seriously, why is the Abuse Cycle on the rec page?!)
