Borra - I am hoping that most Borra shippers are side-shipping Bolin with other characters. With Asami, with Lin, with Iroh, with Amon, etc.

Easing out of wanting to ship woobie!Lt. with everyone. This is good. It can be a PAIN to keep on feeling so sorry about this or that character.

(I'm now going to act/seem really crazy -below-. I still have lingering over-protective tendencies of Asami, so I gotta talk it out cause it's time to let go and move on to and deal with other stuff until Book 2.)

Asami - despite the heartbreak thing, the finale did OKAY with you! Fandom loves you, is actually over-protective of you. General fandom consensus is that you're too good for YKW. Amazingly, you actually got out of the scrappy heap despite being initially presented as the "enemy" and cockblocker of the fandom's once most popular ship. Incredible achievement, and at least half of the fandom can now identify with you - WAHOO! You're one of fandom's darlings, and I really don't have to worry about you anymore. ('Sides, you're not real anyway - yes, yes, I know I am insane.) Thank YOU (and Bryke too) for doing what I thought was just not possible.

I ship Broh so much.

I ship pretty much everything that isn't Makorra. Or any ship involving Mako. And I do mean everything.

My current favorite Avatar ship is Tophzula though. I have no idea why.

The fact that Toph won't be in The Search upsets me because it means no Tophzula romance. Which doesn't make sense, because I recognize that Azula would need to not be crazy before any relationship could really work.

Azula being Lin's other parent doesn't make much sense, because Lin displays no traits in her personality that are in any way similar to Azula.

So I really have no idea why this ship appeals to me so much.

I guess they both have the bending prodigy thing in common.

They are both capable of being rude at times, although Azula is usually much better at subtlety and manners. I mean, Toph was raised a noble, so she knows manners, but never uses them.

The difference is, Azula doesn't care about the social standing of anyone but herself. Toph doesn't care about social standing in general.

I sorta like the idea that Toph can't sense when Azula is lying. That sounds terrible, but it would mean that Toph would have to learn to trust Azula instead of relying on her Living Lie Detector powers all the time. It would mean that she would have to get to know Azula in order to trust her.

On the political and social side, Azula is a former Fire Lord and current princess, while Toph is the Avatar's Earthbending teacher and Earth Kingdom Nobility. Social Standing isn't the most important thing in a relationship, but it doesn't hurt either.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I mentioned this earlier, but I also ship Koh The Face Stealer/The Avatar Spirit.

Again, no idea why. I could probably make up a reason, but that would be more a justification for my shipping than a cause.

This is a great and glorious thing.

I actually just saw that on tumblr not too long ago. It seriously made me laugh out loud, it was so spot-on and such a good satire of the shipping in the fandom!!!

No.

It's because he can take a hint and back off. As I've heard it put elsewhere: he loves her (pay attention to his body language, especially in the last four episodes; even as of the finale, the boy has got it bad) more than he wants her.

That's essentially shooting yourself in the foot. Sounds like ignoring your own desire out of fear.

What's he supposed to do? She's single-targeting on his brother, who's raised him since he was six. And as long as that's going on, there's nothing he can really do.

It's not fear. It's common sense and common decency.

I've done exactly that, myself. I've seen that someone I have a crush on does not feel the same way about me, and backed the fuck off.

If she gave the hint that they didn't have a connection, then yeah.

But I can't shake the feeling that he could have put a little more effort. Emphasis on a little.

That whole letting feelings run it's course, seems odd to me. Effort is what's required for love, not fleeting affections right?
