Put 'em in, I suppose, but I think they are just a motivational tool pushing Fonda's character to be the Big Bad. She is orchestrating the media smear campaign of her own news anchor. Pretty evil stuff.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittySomeone finish the analogy for me with this show:
Will:Keith Olbermann::Fonda's Character:?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Yeah, I agree with Eddie. Leona is the Big Bad of the show, the Koch Brothers are the Big Bad of Real Life. I've been saying that for years, not that I'd ever list it on the site. From a storytelling perspective, knowing as much as I do about their politics and backroom dealings, the Koch Brothers are the closest thing Real Life has to a Big Bad right now. They terrify me.

SPACE? LASERS? ROBOTS?I'm with Eddie too. As much as I hate the Koch brothers (and oh boy, do I ever) they're not, from a storytelling perspective, the Big Bad of the show. (Just of American politics.) I agree, Leona seems to be the one shaping up to be that, although I do like that she's not an outright Card-Carrying Villain. Selfish, yes, but she's not doing it out of pure spite, and that makes her more believable IMO.
Also, can I just say that out of nowhere I burst into noisy glubbering sobs during the last ten minutes of "I'll Try To Fix You"? I thought the treatment of the Tucson shootings was some of the best work Sorkin's ever done. Just... wow. Intense and tearjerking and completely respectful of the woman herself. Amazing.
I serve at the pleasure of President Pritchart. The Koch Brothers are the Lex Luthor of the real world.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryOh man. I love this show. My friends are now officially getting tired of me Gushing About Shows You Like.
Fun fact: Olivia needed no training for the scenes where she spoke Japanese, she spent part of her childhood in japan and was a model for one of the groups in japan (another reason to love her).
Untitled Power Rangers StoryIs this show biased? I'm interested in this show but I don't want to watch a political soapbox.

Sony fan here. Not for you, then.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyIt's a show penned by Aaron Sorkin. Of course it's biased.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."If you don't want to watch a political soapbox, don't watch a Sorkin show. It's that simple.
I serve at the pleasure of President Pritchart. So, has Sorkin figured out that the old news media isn't as important as he thinks it is yet? Considering the fact that the show is two years late (and of course preachy hindsight is 20/20) I guess he'll figure it out in 2014.
Well, the characters are employed by old media. Of course they will think it is more Serious Business than it probably is. I do think the idea that TV news is becoming more and more like a parody of itself is being addressed.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOne year and counting. Counting down, that is. You've seen past the second episode, yes?
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I was using two years as a ballpark figure. I know that it's not at a constant present day-2 timeframe.
It's set a year and a half ago at the beginning so he doesn't run over the air date. I thought this was obvious.

Untitled Power Rangers StoryOh Zod the B-Story, THE FUCKING B-STORY.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryOh my fucking Zod. This episode.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryI loved this shit out of this episode.
The last five seconds were basically a combo of two Brick Jokes hitting each other in midflight. (The earlier God rant coupled with the heat wave stuff).
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.NEAL YOU BRILLENT BASTARD, I LOVE YOU!
Untitled Power Rangers StorySLOAN YOU SAUCY GENIUS, I LOVE YOU!!!
Seriously, I have fallen so hard in love with Sloan, Mac, Will, Don, and Neal it is ridiculous. And I also like Lisa. (Sadly, I could not care less right now about Jim and Maggie. Here's hoping Sorkin changes my mind.)
I serve at the pleasure of President Pritchart.Good god, Jim and Maggie need to just fuck already. The Will They or Won't They? B-Plot just needs to get resolved. It's been sort of awkward.
OTOH, the way Reese gets owned was brilliant.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Loved this last episode. Completely agreed with the Taliban-Tea Party comparison. Also loved the hopeful note it ended on, with sorority girl's return and even Nina Howard possibly getting some character development and seeing the error of her ways. Now all we need is real news shows to follow the example.
My only coherent thoughts are "SLOAN AND DON OMG!!!" Which... yeah, not eloquent. But an accurate summation of my feelings on the matter.

Just put "Big Bad: The Koch Brothers" and let the chips fall where they may.
