There was an easrlier thread on that. The image was put back by the admins because we didn't come up with a better suggestion.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe main argument against the pic in the old thread was that Courage is actually a Cowardly Lion rather than The So-Called Coward...haven't seen the show, can't verify that. I'd be fine with moving the pic to that page in place of the Trope Namer, but we'd have to convince Eddie.

I've watched that show and...huh, it's been a while so I can't really remember.
Anyhow, doesn't change the fact that the current image is a JAFAAC.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI wouldn't say it's "arguably" worse. It's definitely worse. JAFAAC is basically the same as having no image at all, which doesn't technically hurt anything, but a misleading image can cause confusion to editors.
Actually, I'd argue that's it's misleading as it makes the trope seem like a character type rather than a plot/scene trope. I blame the title too.
Fight smart, not fair.Bumping the thread: it seems to me that the easiest way to illustrate the trope would be in two halves — the first in which the character is being mocked, and the second in which the character is being awesome. Anyone see a likely candidate in the examples list?
Here's a Goblins page, the middle row has a character who stays behind to let others escape. You have to look to tell, but he has "coward" carved on his forehead (by a villain to mock him).
I think the trope isn't about the name "Coward", but the type of person who refuses to fight just to uphold a reputation. There's no indication in the comic that the character you point out is that.
Ah ok. I'll admit I didn't open the trope page because the name sounded clear enough. Seems like it it's much more specific than can be assumed...
Clock is set.
Does anyone have a copy of the Usagi Yojimbo story listed on the page? It might be possible to pull a couple images from that.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
This is just a scared, pink dog. Even though I LOVE this series, I say that this should be pulled.
