The Place for Purging Porn and Pedo-Pandering (AKA P5 flag evaluations)

It sounds like either and exaggeration or making stuff up. Let's ask someone who actually has an account.

Danbooru primarily keeps stuff that's been tagged as "loli" and "shota" behind a pay-wall. I personally prefer it that way, and have no intention of paying for an upgrade. That said, they do not host any live-action explicit stuff, though explicit stuff is indeed there.

I think that's all that paying for an upgrade there buys you, essentially (except for supporting the site financially). Gelbooru has it right out in the open.

For what it's worth, I wasn't aware of that, and it probably would have made me more likely to vote "cut" if I had been.

I think this is a case of "since it's not a fictional work, it's off-mission and not worth the trouble to deal with." That's how I look at it, at least... I don't want to put words in Eddie's mouth.

Danbooru has explicit lolicon and shotacon images that you can only see if you have a privileged account AKA pay or help out a lot. You can't see them just having an account.

Could just combine all the booru pages and note what each one does. Ponibooru is for MLP, Danbooru is just images in general, gelbooru is mostly porn and safebooru is danbooru minus the porn. It's not like we're even talking about the pedo stuff, nor are we even avoiding it. We're just saying what they are and what they are is image repositories.

Agreeing. It's not like all those boorus needed separate pages anyways.

Okay, I assumed that Danbooru would contain some lolicon / shotacon content, as is the nature of any imageboard with minimal censorship rules. (That would mean that, depending on the content, things like Pixiv would have to come under closer scrutiny too.) At least they keep it out of sight. But if you're going to stub-and-lock Literotica and Sankaku Complex, why not be consistent at least?

Anyway, I like Arha's idea.

Well, Lu closed the Ask The Tropers discussion about Danbooru, as it was starting to go into out-and-out debate territory, which isn't really suited to that venue. Shortcake seems pretty adamant about getting rid of Ponibooru. And I still haven't gotten my answer to the question I asked about what happens to the works and pools primarily found on Danbooru.

I'm with Arha on this one; put all the boorus on one booru page and list the individual sites under that.

So wait — did Eddie just axe a previously-acquited page, on an accidental piece of info, because someone merely suggested it?

Even if the "pedo" aspect wasn't touched during the evaluation, this should just call for a re-evaluation, if anything at all. But definitely not discarding the decision by 5P.

Maybe I should have went there and jumped up and down about moving Otomedius. That would have resolved things quickly.

Before anybody goes after me, I wasn't being serious about that.

I think FE said that Danbooru was suspected of having child pornography in it and thus having a page on it was legally risky.

According to FE on the Ask The Tropers page:

It was Shortcake who ended up making the accusation in question. I don't know if he or she equates loli/shota content with actual child pornography (as in the stuff that you have to actually abuse and hurt real kids to make), or if he or she used the term for effect, but nevertheless, that's a pretty serious charge.

Question: for pages that were cut in the first cleanup burst but for which a petition has been entered (and not yet reviewed), should those be flagged to add them to the queue, or do we assume that the P5 will get around to them eventually?

For the record, U.S. courts have time and again differentiated between "porn involving real children" (absolutely illegal) and "porn involving fictional child(-looking) characters" (technically treated as any other porn AFAIK, though the social stigma in the West makes it extremely risky to try selling/publishing it in Western markets). AFAIK, Danbooru and Gelbooru only contain the latter.

That is actually already covered with paedopandering (porn involving childlike things), so let's not discuss child pornography here and move on.

We obviously don't want lolicon etc-but the point he's making is about legal implications
