Thank you very much.
I admit, the pinkish-red color made me feel a bit ill staring at it, so I didn't see it the first time around.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Yea, the others just don't talk as much, but their votes are equal. I hear Fast Eddie is being an extra vote while they look for another.

No, he's only voting when there is a tie, if I understand things correctly...
@ 492 Martello: I'm reasonably familiar with Milo Manara, although I haven't read the work you mention, so I think I know what you're talking about. But yes, descriptions of genitalia and penetration occur in very nearly all romance novels, and visible genitalia and penetration occur frequently in M-rated romance manga (usually with some degree of censoring due to Japanese law). Butterflies, Flowers is an example of a romantic-comedy manga with a few rather explicit sex scenes, the Finder Series is romance/action with some quite explicit sex, there's lots of others I could mention.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered. In practice (and by that, I mean in actual outcomes), there's no difference between FE always voting and voting only when there is a tie.

Yep. Right now, I'm just observing, taking in everyone's arguments for my future decisions.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. There's some sex scenes in that wacky josei romp Happy Mania but it's not porn. It's mostly about Shigeta's search for herself. I'm not sure if those sex scenes were even supposed to be arousing.
a typical example. note: this is a SEX SCENE◊
Just another example of josei with sex scenes. If Black Bird is the Japanese Twilight, then Butterflies Flowers and Happy Mania are its comic book chicklit.

Those would fall under Martello's definition of softcore, unless I remember them wrong.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.Lebrel in 506 is absolutely right: romance novels absolutely can depict sex scenes explicitly.
I'm afraid to name it with this new change in the rules, but there's a series of romance novels I've read that have numerous very graphic sex scenes. Said sex scenes still take up a tiny fraction of the page count, and all the novels in the series are sold in regular bookstores without any adult wrapper or label. If all you did was flip to a sex scene, read it, see that it was graphic, and assume the entire book was 100% nothing but sex all the time, it would be a terrible misrepresentation. That these books contain graphic sex scenes doesn't make the other 98% of the pages porn in any way.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere. The title is apt although, if you read the actual description of that trope, it isn't.
What I'm saying is that the rules originally posted in Bobby G's announcement specified that porn means "primarily or almost entirely sex." The new rules are apparently very, very much stricter, and it looks like now just a few sex scenes, regardless of context, may be enough to cut an entire book.
I swear, every time I think I'm fine with the process and have been convinced that it will only cut the truly porny and pedo-y works, every time I've laid aside my worries and given the admins my trust, the mods or FE or 5P go and move the goalposts, and suddenly everything gets stricter and less trustworthy than before.
This is not how you inspire confidence and trust, folks.

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Wait what new rules!?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I believe that's just Martello's personal set of guidelines, isn't it?
Fighteer went and edited the General Announcement Bobby G had posted.
He didn't make an actual new announcement, which made it darn hard to notice the rules all changed.

Law of Martello. It's just his own personal guidelines though.

Full Battle Mode@515 Rhyme Beat: There's no new rules, yet, but one of the 5P is changing his opinion on what constitutes porn to a much more rigid interpretation. I'm hoping to nip this in the bud, as it goes against prior mod statements.

Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.But Martello's only one guy. But I'm a one person 10P. I keep losing the thread. ;_;

Yes, there ARE new rules. Look at Bobby G's announcement. Fighteer edited it and the old rules/guidelines have been totally replaced with something far more strict.
And yes, on top of that Martello's gone 180 on what counts as Porn Without Plot for him.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Aren't they just the rules for what is unqualified for review? The things that go out of the guidelines will still be reviewed.
EDIT: ... Nevermind.
