I would like to have The Rape of the Lock restored. It is a notable work of literature with zero sexual content. There is absolutely no reason to blank it because of the title, given that we have the ability to individually blank any trope pages that may be problems.
That work isn't cut. It's only under the blanket curtain on account of the Scunthorpe Problem. On the other hand, we should see about getting it removed from the curtain when we can.
Disregard my post. It was meant for the other thread. Sorry!

^^^ If the rape tropes in general aren't restored it'll probably be back eventually. I'd say Mind Rape is the same only under a name like Mental Torture instead.

I want to (again?) bring up Caligula, some cuts of which are not wholly pornographic, Guccione notwithstanding.

The child is father to the man —OedipusCan we have a thread on Ai No Kusabi? Judging by the reactions, it doesn't look like porn, just standard Boys' Love. I've been getting PMs on it.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI've been working on something in the post links thread and I noticed that Kite has been cut. I've never seen it, but it doesn't show up in the resolved or unresolved area and I recall people appealing it.
Sure, just give me a sec...
Edit: And... done. Fire away.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Kite was one of those cut by Eddie before the P5 process was set up (and honestly, there was good reason to do so.) I was one of those who petitioned for it to be brought back as Bleached Underpants only (before I was appointed to the P5.)
It hasn't been flagged to go to the Content Violations queue yet for a proper review. I figured I'd wait to flag it until we have the unresolved list whittled down a bit more, unless someone beats me to it before then.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!Kite is by the same creator(s) as Mezzo Forte and has the same issue - it was released in two versions, the explicit version that has some scenes that are really gratuitious and don't contribute anything to the plot (and, in Kite's case, are really skeevy due to the girl's age), and the censored version which cuts those scenes and just sticks with the plot. I agree with Meeble; if we treat it the same as we did with MF, it should be fine to keep.

Kind of late to this, but I saw that Fifty Shades Of Grey had been cut. There seem to be news articles discussing it as a phenomena almost every day, and isn't it like on best seller lists all over the world?
I honestly haven't read it nor do I know how "porny" it really is (I kind of suspect not much worse than your average trashy romance novel *), but like Lolita, it seems weird that we'd have a problem with it when every bookstore in the United States doesn't. I do see The Other Wiki says that some libraries have prohibited it for being at odds with their content standards, but seems like was reversed in some of those due to popular demand.
I can see re-creating and locking it, but doesn't seem right not to allow a page on it. Also, my impression of the work is that it's basically The Story Of O if written by the author of Twilight, and since we allowed a page on The Story Of O...

Hodor...My local library does have a copy.
I think that one was cut before I started on the P5. Knowing nothing about the work aside from minor Pop-Cultural Osmosis I don't know what I would have voted.
However, I do know that it's getting a film adaptation soon, so even if the book is "porn" the film would be eligible for getting a page assuming it's not porn as well.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! It's graphic BDSM porn.
Edited for an inaccurate second-hand account.

Ok then. Fair enough. Still, I feel like its popularity should allow an exception.
HodorI think our logic was The Story Of O is an important historical piece because of its history against censorship boards, and Fifty Shades Of Gray is Twilight fanfiction with the serial numbers filed off. They're of two different worlds.
I'm going to ask again, since my question always seems to be swamped under a wave of other suggestions, but could we bring back the fanfiction part of So Bad Its Horrible?
I think it'd be easy to keep clean with a no links/no pedo rule, and not every fanfiction on there was pornography. Some of them were just really bad, no innapropriate content to be found! And if we can keep bad pornographic Fan Videos on there, then I don't see why we can't have bad pornographic fanfiction.

Blue Pacific, signing off...
She has a point, though. We probably should take further discussion on general policy issues to the now-reopened Content Violations thread.
