Just created a sandbox for a hypothetical replacement page, with much of the info taken from the Web Original page. Anyone is welcome to contribute there, and all feedback will be appreciated.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Created sandboxes from the WebOriginal genre subpages. Placed them as such because they are all working titles, so like my first sandbox nothing really is set in stone.
Still, any input is appreciated.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.Where's the list of the new namespaces?
And I thought we were keeping Web Original as a sort of supertrope.
Crowner's been called for a while now (with the six approved categories to replace WebOriginal). Keeping that as a namespace itself has been rejected, and the term "Web Original" can be a bit confusing although it was defined on the page itself. New Media seems like a better fit in the meantime.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.I thought we were keeping Web Original as well, just not as a namespace. It would be more-or-less the "super-medium" for the more specific mediums of the various namespaces.
Huh... kinda thought it would call for a full facelift (what with an obsolete namespace and the somewhat confusing term in itself*). Already started work on the some subpages...
I now go by Graf von Tirol.I think New Media is too broad and general, as in "any medium after X, X is TV or radio, or Youtube, etc".
Spacemarine 50 is right about how "New Media" isn't synonymous with "Web Original". Consider that Viacom New Media published the multiplatform puzzle game Zoop in the fourth generation era.
Huh... well, I guess at least we should transfer examples from there to their respective cateogories, which technically would land this in Special Efforts.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.I'm thinking that the works on the page should be separated into smaller categories. We already have an index page for Web Animation - but we also need ones for Web Video, Blog, Website, Podcast, et al.

Bumping this. Is there an option to leave this as an index and/or archive?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCrowner woven to thread.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I would like to see Web Original remain as a disambiguation page to preserve inbounds (122) and so we don't immediately lose the 2200+ wicks to it.
Keep the top half of the page, move the examples to their respective subpages (including Web Video, Let's Play, Blog, etc.)
There is no option for cutting here. "Split" usually implies "disambiguation"
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe wording makes it unclear to someone not well versed in administrative policy. In any case, I've stated my initial thoughts on this.
Not really. There are definitely multiple ways to split something.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Personally, I'm in favour of splitting - but I think it might be a good idea to rename Web Original to Web Media. That way, the word "original" doesn't cause confusion for those who wonder where fan works (especially of the non-Fan Fic variety) should go.
Yep. Actually, Web Media does make much more sense than Web Original would, given that the term "original" is indeed ambiguous. So yes, a rename and a splitting of examples to various mediums would work out.
I now go by Graf von Tirol. The best thing to do is split this to match the new categories. Consistency is victory.
Again, I do see little wrong with having an index of various internet mediums. I did start out by leaving a notice on top of the Web Original page to stop adding new entries and instead add towards a respective new medium.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.I wonder if we should put this in a sidebar announcement.

Anybody else here to weigh in on this?
I now go by Graf von Tirol.Crowner called. Let's split.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI guess the renaming didn't garner enough support*. Is that right*?

Crown Description:
Note: Options aren't mutually exclusive
Not sure how I can categorize this, since the case is that Web Original has been replaced and would therefore likely require a rename to reflect this change. I'm wondering if there is a way this can be renamed, perhaps back to New Media or something?
