I like how Vegeta complains about Cell not being a challenge at first, then gets pissed off when he gets exactly what he wanted and then some.

It's actually because Goku was more popular then Gohan in Japan.

If Saitama was here, here's the reaction he would have:

Saitama: "ok".

Granted, GT was made by Toei, and even then it's implied Goku actually got stronger between then and the Buu Saga; Goku just got ridiculously more powerful.

Gohan also still seemed stronger than Goku in Battle of Gods as well, right up until Goku got Super Saiyan God.

@ Great: Thanks to the cheat code Virginia Vegeta supplied Cell, he's now entered God Mode. Yay.

@ Enlong: Gohan went home and became a family man. Goku didn't, so he didn't lose the same gains Gohan did after the Cell and Buu Sagas. You would think that, by Super, he'd realize to at least train to maintain his current power level, but nooooooo...

The way Team Four Star did this and Trunk's fight with Cell after was brilliant.

That must be quite a dish of karma Vegeta's tasting.

I honestly like DBZ a lot less than I did when I was a kid :/

This would be a Comedy of Errors if this was actually funny.

@ Alpha: To be fair, a lot of people go through that. The more popular and idolized a show is, the easier it is to pick apart its flaws years later (unless you have a huge Nostalgia Filter applied).

Of course, Gohan then eventually does published scientific research on KI, resulting in basically everyone on earth gaining superpowers. That's pretty awesome.

Ya know Krillen has no right to criticize Trunks not fighting when he fucking gave up his chance to beat Cell for love of all things. At least Vegeta has his pride, Krillen doomed the world for a kiss for God's sake.

Definitely awesome, but in more of a geeky way than a flat-out badass way, so I have to wonder how many fans that complain about Gohan's Badass Decay between arcs/series actually give the guy his due.

To be fair, Krillin knows he's outclassed, whereas Trunks could step in and help but chooses not to because of daddy issues. Still makes his "Imma smash the remote!" moment stupid, but he's a fool in love. And he gets a smokin' hot wife when all's said and done. Hooray for priorities!

I don't really like DBZ as much tbh. I still don't mind watching it, but it's a bit... dated.

Vegeta and Krillin both screwed up, but I'd say that Vegeta doing so for pride is a much worse thing. Krillin cared about 18's life, Vegeta cared about himself.
