Werewolf/mafia: Electric Boogaloo

Oh, wow, what a fun ending! It's nice to have a peaceful solution for once. And this time, I actually didn't die! That hasn't happened since my first game here.

I'll be starting classes soon, so I doubt I'll be able to join next game as a player. I could try hosting, but since other people seem to want to run the next game, I'll probably just sit out and provide occasional commentary.

Well, good game everyone. I'm sitting out for the next one since school has started to go into full swing.

A few thoughts on this game, town definitely had a significant advantage, and the maf wasn't particularly strong enough to deal with it, especially with the large number of power roles. In this sort of setup, something like disguiser and/or janitor would have helped maf. The gossiper was definitely a good idea, but we were able to find him quickly due to scummy behavior.

Also, Lord Herobrine, turning me wasn't exactly the optimal decision in this case. Assuming that people wouldn't instantly claim turned and play to the role, you probably could have bought some more time by turning Anolis or Brah. When people start noticing that I'm not dying while the sheriffs die/are alive, they're gonna get suspicious. There's also the fact that I was the one who specifically suggested that the turned can just claim it, even though I didn't explicitly do so in the last round. Also, what exactly were your powers? Did you have the transformation ability and use it or did you just have the turning thing?

It wasn't the issue with roles, it was the second-day-that-took-72+-hours.

That's what killed us. I would have been fine otherwise.

The controller decided to up and control me, but otherwise, what I SHOULD have done was turn you on the first night. Your analytic mind is dangerous, and I should have used that from the beginning.

It may not have helped that some of the werewolves were kinda silent, and therefore easy targets, but outside life probably interfered with that.

Several things went wrong that last round for the Werewolves, and when I saw this round's OP, I knew we were skunked anyway. I didn't count on Elva to die.

Turning Brah would have been a problem because of his role. When asked what he did the next day, and if he gave conflicting information, with no werewolf kills, then it would have been assumed that someone was turned.

Also, the scratches thing.

Anolis might have been able to work something, but between him and me, I did not imagine we'd have enough clout in order to shift the balance.

You have a ton of clout in games, Carthai, and I should have allied with you first. That was probably my first mistake.

Ah, really liked the ending.

But it was much more difficult than IRL mafia, haha. Anyway, maybe I'd do better a second time, so I'm in for the next game.

Yes, the Lucavi^* Yes, I know I've been spelling it wrong all up to this point..

The twist with the maf, the Zodiac Holders in this case, is that not only do they elect to kill a villager but to also send a Holder to kill them, and there's a 50/50 chance either of them will be killed. However, the Holder can activate their stone, turning into the stone's Lucavi and that night, they will be guaranteed the kill. However, they cannot participate in any daytime activities, but they can still be voted upon. Also, if a Holder gets killed, the target gets the Zodiac Stone, which, because of a little twist for the Priest's role, the resident Seer, will make things...chaotic to say the least.

Anolis, that sounds potentially complicated and problematic.

I'd keep it simple, since you may or may not be underestimating how complicated running a session actually is, unless you've done it before.

If Black Mage Anolis doesn't show up, I could host. I can do the once-daily-or-so check-ins required to run a game, and I have several themes in mind. Most of my themes were set up with 12 or more players in mind, but I can make do with less as long as there are still enough to make a decent game.

My classes will keep me too busy to handle the full analysis and discussion required to play. However, I will have spring break in a couple of weeks. If a game were to start around March 27, then I'd be up for playing, but not until then.
