Another thing is that Westwood originally intended RA 1 to be prequel to Tiberian Dawn more directly. Kane's cameo appearances in the Soviet campaign and a couple of very vague implications were supposed to imply that possibility, with the Soviet Union's collapse despite their victory in the end leading to Tib Dawn. The schizo tech and prevalence of US weapon designs was also supposed to be explained by the Allies secretly taking advantage of the technological advancements taken from the future Einstein was a part of. A stable time loop of sorts, if you take into account that this means Einstein made two alternate universes with the first use of the Chronosphere.
However that fell apart once Westwood's staff started drafting up Tiberian Sun and realized that it might be better to keep the universes separate.
Westwood still tried though; their original draft for Command and Conquer 3 featured a clone of Kane being sent back in time by accident to become Yuri, and the planned Renegade 2 intended to bridge the aftermath of Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge and Tiberian Dawn.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotOoh, never heard of that before. Do you have a link?
RE: Americans in RA 1: Wouldn't America backing Europe during RA 1 be very logical, since the Europeans are pretty much outnumbered and outgunned?
RE: RA and Tiberium: As to which ending leads into Tiberium, wouldn't the Allied ending do so as well, since GDI got a Call-Forward, and that Kane and Nadia could have ditched Stalin and went into hiding to wait until Tiberium shows up?

On the first draft of Command and Conquer 3.
The series wiki is the best source of data on Renegade 2, as the Petroglyph forums are gone.

They were backing them, at least with war material and some actual military assistance (the latter is the only way to explain Carville's presence as your direct superior in the Counterstrike missions). It seemed the bulk of the Allied military forces was all European, though. And the advantage in numbers seems to mean little when the Allied Forces used cunning precision strikes to deal disproportionate damage to the Soviet behemoth, which was already strained by the extended supply lines and being spread across a much wider frontline and area than it was at the beginning of the war, with partisan resistance being a constant thorn in its side.
But given the fact the early missions comprised of bits like rescuing Einstein, helping supplies get through, destroying bridges, and reliance on espionage, doesn't it sound like the Allies were losing ground before getting Einstein back?
Well, of course they were. That's the whole point: The Soviets had the advantage of surprise, tech, manpower, and relative shortness of supply trains when they first invaded. Then the Allies managed to slow down the enemy advance and buy enough time that certain realities of warfare set in; and if the implications of your player character's actions are any indication, it may be that the Soviets made the mistake of making your position the Battle of Stalingrad of their offensive, bleeding out a good deal of their best forces in an ill-advised attempt to restore their wounded pride note . The Soviet went in too deep too fast, the same way the Nazis did when they attacked the USSR in WW 2; you can see signs of that in the Soviet campaign, in the briefing for the convoy-escort mission where Stalin is railing to Nadia about how the Allies aren't already falling apart the way he was told they would. The Allies evidently learned from their enemies' mistakes in their own offensive into the Russian motherland, since they do not seem to have that kind of trouble.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So I bought the whole series collection on Origin for like ten bucks because fuck yeah that's a good price and now my mods hate me.
Can't seem to get Rise of the Reds to run for Zero Hour, anyone else having this issue?
Oh really when? Was it playing fine earlier? If so, it's probably because of something in your options.ini file regarding the graphics that got screwed up, same thing happened to me at random. And if that is the case, try watching the below video and see if this helps you solve your situation:
Does anyone else here think that Tanya's portrayal in RA1 and RA2 qualify her for being a Military Maverick?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I guess that trope can apply for RA 1's Tanya, since the tone of that game was much more serious and grimdark in comparison to the sequels that followed. RA 2 and RA 3 were chock full of hammy characters including George Takei of all people, so Tanya was in a world full of Hammy actors at their hammiest zenith.
I think the current version of Rise of the Reds has better support for the Ultimate Collection, but in case that wasn't enough, there's these fixed game launchers.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot^^^ RA 1 yes given her "unofficial" operative status. (In the words of Von Esling "professional volunteer".)
RA 2 however she's basically a spook. A CIA SAD/SOG operative. Kinda like Alex Mason.

And Mammoth tanks and Tesla coils were being fielded by the Soviets from pretty much the beginning, judging by several mission briefing videos.
Weren't those tanks the Heavy Tanks, which are just T-80s with two cannons?
So nobody has any solutions for The First Decade on Windows 8?

What's tricky about the First Decade Pack is that it depends upon which game within the pack is acting up. Even C&C3, one of the more recent releases, tends to crash often when played on Windows 8 due to a variety of compatibility issues.
Best bet would be to scour the fansites: CNCNZ.com and CNC-comm.com are still well maintained, so asking around on either the front page comments section or their forum history might help.
Hmm, anyone else having a problem with game speed in Red Alert 3 Uprising?
It plays as fast as possible and it's too quick for me. Matches are over in like 15 minutes and it's no fun.
I don't really see an option to lower the speed either.

Oh really when?Tiberium Wars suffers from the same problem too, I believe. And nope, I don't know how to fix it either.
Have you tried going through the Common Problems thread on the EA Answers forum?
The really nice thing about that thread is that the people who did quite a lot of the fan-made bug squishing for The First Decade are there.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotWell I posted it there but no response yet.
Kinda bummed out, I wanted to play with the Reapers and so on.
Oh really when? The Reapers...? Are we talking about the Nod Cyborg from Tib Sun, or the big alien robo-cuttlefish from the Mass Effect series?
^ If the former, they aren't that good. Unless you know how to INI mod...
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."
I chalked it up to one or more of the following:
- Believing that American weapons and vehicles were inherently more awesome than European counterparts.
- Reasoning that American audiences would be confused if the NATO stand-in uses strictly European military tech that never saw use in the US.
- Reasoning that Europe could only stand a chance against the USSR's military might if it used an American-built arsenal.
- The game is supposed to be a stand-in for the Cold War gone hot; it stands to reason that American weapons get pitted against Soviet ones, even if the story itself doesn't involve the US actually fighting the Soviet Union directly.
