They showed Humans Are Bastards fairly well. I was just annoyed by how humanity in general is just way more powerful than it should be.
...Doesn't the game acknowledge that, though? I'm pretty sure that's the main reason humanity is disliked.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."You can acknowledge something but it'll still be there. I don't see how that makes it any better.

...It's a Deconstruction of Humans Are Superior, and a good one if I do say so myself.
Eh, that's not bastardy, that's glory. If you're not living the gory, bloody life, you're not living life the right way.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."That's getting really old.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Humanity's richest and most powerful being the richest and most powerful in the galaxy is just a consequence of humanity muscling their way in galactic society. So naturally when humanity becomes one of the top dogs in the galaxy their top dogs remain that way.
#IceBearForPresidentI dunno; I'm pretty sure Rupe Elkoss is one of the richest people in the galaxy. I mean, he owns the company that makes everything ever.
Also he's a volus.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.I'll admit, I'm kind of torn on the whole Humans Are Special / Humans Are Bastards thing.
Thing is, we don't have any actual alien species to compare us to, and humans are uniquely intelligent and creative on Earth - think about it, there's only so many ways a dog can be different from any other dog, so of course if you have, say, a race of dog-people, there's going to be certain consistent stereotypes and they're not going to have the same versatility or variety that humans do.
I've kind of tried to avoid this with my own setting (by basing alien species on either a mixture of similar looking but very different creatures, or by basing them upon a specific series of concepts etc.), but I'm doubtful I've really succeeded.
I know for a fact that Humans Are Special can go die in a hole, though. I like humans as much as the next guy, but if you're going to introduce non-human species that are supposedly as intelligent and capable as humans are, don't be half-butted about it.
And Zephyr, please, eugh... there's a difference between not wanting humans to be automatically the best thing around since sliced bread (and uber murderous) in comparison to everyone else...
...and wanting the story to have no conflict at all, with the characters sitting around drinking alien tea.

Donate money to Skullgirls, get a sweet poster.Oh. Here you go.
I said that it would be cool and make sense if Harby assumed control of husks, and Spirit said no, because they can only control specially created avatars.
Ha!

The Neophyte is bad-mouthing you!
Are you gonna let him?
I sure won't!
Mfan I humbly request that you not put me on the spot like that, for it hurts my feelings.
I'm sorry y'all had to see me raise my voice like that.

#IceBearForPresident
I would've liked them to play up the humans are bastards angle; really hammer home the the cruelty we as a species are capable of. I mean look at our history- If we were capable of doing horrible things to ourselves, imagine what would happen when you take away the human part and replace them with aliens. We'd upstage the krogan with sheer balls to the wall dickishness.
