OK, types of meganekko that I can think of:
- the shy, self-effacing type, related to Shrinking Violet, often a Cute Bookworm;
- the studious, responsible student-council type, distantly related to Adorably Precocious Child (in that the intended response is "aww, cute", not "she's admirably competent").

Why don't we just split off Cute Glasses Girl to start with, as that at least limits it to girls with glasses that are "cute" which was the original intent of the trope.

I'm not sure if this needs a split. i actually think the trope should probably just be rename to Cute Glasses Girl. A lot of the examples on this page should probably actually be under Sexy Spectacles. Everything else probably fits the general definition of a "Cute Glasses Girl" and any extra types are just "Cute Glasses Girl" + [some other trope we already have].

Anyway, do we need the Glasses Girl redirect? I know that's what meganekko means but the trope isn't just "girls who wears glasses".

Bumping yet again. Is it just me or was this option to split the trope wasn't not explored thoroughly enough? Half the thread was spent on talking about the title, there wasn't much discussion on how the split it. I feel that we should have discussed that more before making the crowner (which didn't explain how we are going to split meganekko, just that it was going to get split.)
I kind of agree with Noir Grimoir that splitting it the way it was suggested was more like combining Meganekko with other tropes. Also, this thread gets like 1 or 2 posts a month without things moving much. I would have been contributing more if I wasn't unsure about how we going to this exactly. Since we now have a special efforts thread for cleaning and renaming abused Personal Appearance Tropes here
, would it be better for the issue to be brought up there eventually instead of the TRS? I think Meganekko will at least get more attention there.
