Alright once more, considering the other thread didn't explain things properly.

The description and the page itself says that this is about shared universes. As in, not The Multiverse. Quite a number of examples in the page itself, but only 8 wicks. Which is seriously lacking, considering that each example discusses multiple works.

I have found misuse even though only 8 articles link to it:

Even the Webcomics index is misuse:

a list of known multiverses across the web:
even though the trope page is not about multiverses.

The example on Applegeeks says "takes place in the same multiverse", even though this trope is not about any sort of multiverse. I'm not really sure if it's correct or otherwise, but more likely correct. Just that this title makes it hard to tell whether the example was going by this article or the usual definition of multiverse.

The only outside use that actually sound unambiguously correct (i.e, talking about a shared reality instead of an example of The Multiverse) are Sire, Penny And Aggie Terminus A Quo and Evil Plan The Webcomic.

The other link is some sort of title index on Italian TVT. Looks to be just a translation of the title.

So yeah, underused, and misused, despite what little use there is. The title seems to make people think this has something to do with The Multiverse , even though it's about the exact opposite. As in, a single shared universe, instead of different universes. All or most of the examples on this page itself is about shared universes, not any form of The Multiverse. Which contradicts what some of the other pages say.

Main/WebcomicsMultiverses found in: 8 articles, excluding discussions.

Since January 1, 2011 this article has brought 14 people to the wiki from non-search engine links.

Yeah, lacking in inbounds too, I guess.

Ugh, That page looks like a bizarre amalgam of Shared Universe and Crossover. It also doesn't seem to have gone through Ykttw.

I'd say lack of inbounds is just a small part of the main issue.

It seems like it describes multiple shared universes; I realize "multiple universes" is not synonymous with "multiverse", but "misuse" means "disagrees with article description" not "disagrees with dictionary" right?

As a trope, I don't think this is substantially different from Shared Universe.

[up][up] 3/8 of any mention outside the article itself contradicts the page's definition.

[up] So, is this page even necessary, then?

Personally, no. The only thing it'd likely be useful for is some sort of index for showing how several works are part of the same universe/multiverse (I can think of several webcomics that visit each other through some kind of interdimensinal door thingy).

I actually assumed it was an index, not unlike, say, Transformation Comic.

Webcomics Multiverses is indeed supposed to be an index. It started off as a section at the bottom of the Notable Webcomics index, back in the day when that was our only webcomics index, and it was spun into its own page when that index was split.

But, yeah, considering that The 'Verse also has an index portion, this one may be redundant.

I didn't write any of that.

So, merge due to redundancy?

I'd merge the trope. Might be worth salvaging as an index of webcomics that share a verse.

Should I make a crowner? If so, what would it be?

Page Action I'm thinking. "Merge with Shared Universe" "Merge trope with Shared Universe and create an index for webcomic versions" and "do nothing" I guess?

Well, I'd prefer if the examples are moved to The 'Verse and/or Shared Universe. No need to have a trope page like this that's pretty much [other trope(s)] except in [medium]!

But yeah, crowner, right? Should the "merge examples" option include cutting the page too?

Webcomics Multiverses is indeed supposed to be an index. It started off as a section at the bottom of the Notable Webcomics index, back in the day when that was our only webcomics index, and it was spun into its own page when that index was split.
Why would somebody make something that's literally "webcomics set in the same universe" when The 'Verse is already "things set in the same universe"?

Crowner. Should cutting the page for redundancy be an option too? Should it be a separate entry or just put with "move examples"?

So um, is there any other option to put on the crowner?

Bump for votes.

This crowner needs more options.

[up] Any suggestions?

Also, keeping this page separate doesn't feel right, if it's only going to be "The 'Verse, for webcomic examples".

Calling crowner: make this an index and move off the examples.

I'm not familiar with webcomics, so I can't really tell which examples can actually be moved. Shared Universe had the problem with people listing crossovers and cameos, and this might have the same issue as well.

Is there a reason why we can't just cut it?
