I see a blade. It looks like it has a spell. I don't see what the problem is.
Looks alright.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerKeep Until Better Image Suggested; what's it from?
Potholed, for the time being.
Moon◊Thanks.
Hi Chinchilla! :) But have to disagree: don't see how that's JAFAAC in any way.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. It looks like a person putting a spell on the sword. More like the description says.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI see no problem with the current image.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt has lightning on the sword, what more do you want? I might be able to find a picture of the Scottsman with his magic roons sword.
Fight smart, not fair.Is that even an example? The trope seems to be about a temporary buff on the weapon, not weapons that are permanently enchanted.
somethingHm, the trope is more restricted than I thought.
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah just a "Glowing Sword" does not really show the trope... That is closer to Flaming Sword. we need to show someone empowering it. (Also does not always have to be a sword.... Something that should probably be made more clear as this is getting lots of underuse.
Final Fantasy XIII's En abilities would be good lets see what I can find.... Bah nothin.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!It's not a permanent buff, so it's an example. He only channels power into his weapon when he's fighting, otherwise it's just an ordinary sword.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerYeah but not showing that is just implying that it is the trope... and possibly leading to outright misuse for Flaming Sword.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Hmm... the description of Flaming Sword mentions that Magic Knights will often use it and change it the different elements. IE: Flaming Sword itself isn't assuming that the effect is permanent. There seems to be some trope overlap here.

I think the problems with the image could be resolved by adding an image that shows the sword before it was enchanted. Any Naruto fans here with that episode handy to do a quick screen cap on?
How about a timer on the sword to suggest that the Status Buff will last for only a short period of time?
A Shaman in World Of Warcraft's hour weapon buffs would be good for that but it would be Maces, Axes, Fists, Daggers they can not equip Swords.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The first link there seems broken.
somethingIf this is a videogame mechanic then it needs a shot that's indicative of the videogame nature. A random shot of an elementally charged sword won't do.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I agree.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Well, it's not in any of the video game trope indexes. And some of the things that actually are under Video Game Effects and Spells don't really say that being from video games is really required.

something...dang. Neither the Trope Namer, or the Dissidia depiction of the same would make good images. The sword and the spell are shown alongside each other, but never with the element wreathing the blade.
I have a message from another time...
I don’t really think that Spell Blade is a trope that can have an image but right now the image seems to be a sword that can do lightning stuff and I have been wrong before so instead of just pulling I thought I’d make a conversation.
and that little conversation is how you were born.
any suggestions?
