Actually, God Eater is the "correct" title. note 

But naming it "The Gods Eaters" would be a nice dig at the localization team.

Well, I was more thinking about how immediately before the title cut, Xiaoyu calls them Gods Eaters and then gets corrected.

.hackers! Man, these levels feel like their getting longer. Maybe it's because it's both taking me longer to kill enemies and that there's just A Whole Lot Of Them on the map now.

Cyberspace, though... It done made me think of Mega Man Battle Network. I would've liked seeing .EXE show up to fit that theme, but I can understand why they wouldn't really add him (or any of the other Mega Man characters outside of Classic, X, or Legends) when there's more popular choices.

Well, that was also a dig against the localization adding "s". <3

X did go to cyberspace at least in X4, Cyber Peacock's Stage. I believe some of the cyberspace stages are based on that game's portrayal.

Is there... Is there a way to speed through the enemy turns faster? It's such a pain to have to sit through all of their little motions until I can act again.

There's a file on here that went as far as Chapter 12 I think? I think I can I see why.

I'm not sure. I don't have the PXZ 1 game right now, but the YMMV trope page implies there's a way to turn off enemy grunt sounds. Which could speed it up a bit if they move immediately.

You hold down the R button to speed through enemy turns.

Unless they're doing a special move, in which case you mash the B button to skip to the end animation.

I know it would drag out the game enormously and be a huge demand on the developers but I really miss the old days when every enemy had a proper animated attack. It's not like they use the branch system from Nx C anymore, so you wouldn't have to see the foe ram you repeatedly or whatever.

I thought R was for skipping through dialogue? I was holding it and the enemies didn't seem to be moving any faster.

Progress Update: Got past the level after you recruit Yuri and Estelle, and stopped right after we meet up with Valkyrie no. 17 again. Although, I can see why whoever owned this game last returned it by now. These levels just take so long.

I can't tell if the battle system is just repetitive, or if I'm only ever playing a handful of units because some of them are just too dang slow to catch up to everyone. I like the story that's unfolding, and watching everyone bounce off each other is really amusing but X and Zero still haven't shown up aaaaaaaaaa

I think I should stop trying to play this game in long bursts because it's really draining.

Progress Update: Chapter 16: Detestable Golden Sunny Demon

You know, for a moment I thought it would be a relatively simple map. Maybe something easy, if a little long to get through.

Of course it wouldn't, a giant fleet of enemies just had to ruin it. I do certainly detest the golden sunny demon(s) for making me have to actually catch up to them. Jokes on them, though! Ichiro and Sakura learned the skill that gives everyone +2 move! And apparently Flynn has it too so that's +4 to catch up to them.

Ah that chapter. Brings back memories. I didn't find it hard, just memorable since it's when Jin showed up.

I forgot how skills were used back in PXZ 1, did they use up XP?

Well, I guess +2 move to everyone was pretty sweet for using up XP and kinda OP compared to the skills in PXZ 2. It was great when the enemies are over there, but in that mission they were in the way. I guess that's the annoyance, couldn't use supers because XP were spent speeding up my team.


In the sequel there are these characters that I just don't use unless forced to... heh heh heh.

So who else puts all the CP on one move to make that move OP? Or do you guys prefer to spread out the CP in many moves? Do you have a team with all the CP on the super/MAP attack to make them the dedicated XP user for damage?


Segata: "X, Zero. Are you mega-men or rock-men?"


Chapter 27 is so much fun. Having awesome upbeat jazz in the background while doing those special moves is something else. Can't look at Zeph & Vash's team-up move the same way from now on.

Axel: "Reiji, you look like you could fight barehanded."
Reiji: "Hm, streetfighter-style? Well I do have some kick moves..."
Xiaomu: "Bring on the Streets of Reiji!"

i just throw all the points in moves that cause stun, because stun is such a broken status to inflict

In other news, it's chapter 41 and I think I'm near the end of the game. Coming off of Super Robot Wars this one felt quite short in comparison.

Welp, here we are, at the end.

Jill (in reference to Chris getting into the Street Fighter/Tekken match) "...if your hands start to emit lightning or fire, I'm calling off our partnership, Chris."

edit: Chris "How DO they get the fire to come from their fists? I gotta watch closely this time..."

EDIT 2: Okay, I'm confused about what they mean by "10 years ago", cuz I was led to believe that the fight then was the one Reiji's dad died in, but the game keeps implying that "10 years ago" is the events of NXC, in which case none of the real-earthers have aged a day.

So I'm only at mission 33.

Strider team maxed out their A attack and for almost all of the game, can easily 100 to 0 most bosses by themselves + their solo unit.

Best assists are Axel for damage and Phoenix for utility (guard crush for everyone!).

My favorite unit is Sakura/Gemini though.

Worst unit is Ryu/Ken, very slow movement, no innate speed up, no long range and utility skills (like Chris and Jill) so far. Akira/Kage are just as bad, but I feel they crush guards better and are easier to combo with and deal more damage than Ryu/Ken.

To follow up on Ryu/Ken, the only reason they caught up in my game is I assign Pai as solo unit so they can actually fight something. Now they have a broken-ass skill, but they still need TLC to succeed unlike Strider or Sakura.
