It's already the page picture of Mama Bear and relies completely on the caption. What was wrong with the previous picture?

It seems to have been removed without a reason or a thread. If no one objects, I'm going to restore it.

Umm that is the full comic though so we cant use it. (as well as I dont get it at all.)

You don't need to know the work to understand the cartoon. It's quite clear that the one player is putting Honor ("If a king sentences a pawn to death he should be willing to carry out the sentence with his own hands") before Reason ("Why are you moving only your king?" ... "Well, anyways...Checkmate.") even if you know absolutely nothing about the inspiring work or the characters.

That said, pull the Aliens one and someone ask the cartoonist for permission to use the cartoon. Simple enough. If he says "Yes", we add a link and a commented-out note, and we're all good. If he says "no", we either trim it down or find something else.

I like it too, but I preferred the original look of the panels - no offense, Madrugada. And if we're going to be using someone else's comic, it seems wrong to make unnecessary edits.

Fine by me. The image manip program I use insists on putting the images on a black background when I cut and paste, which makes panel borders somewhat problematic. Yours has a cleaner appearance.

I think the chess pic is fairly bad, but it still works.

The Game Of Thrones pic is far from perfect to me, but it's still serviceable, so I'd definitely be content with it.

I think the panels should be kept in their original order. Just do the last four; you can get the idea that they're playing Chess by the dialogue and the CLANK at the end.

They are in their original order, they simply aren't in their original configuration of 1-2-1. The reader shouldn't be made to guess what's going on until the final panel and the "checkmate.

I agree the chess pic is fairly bad, but it's at least Keep Until Better Image Suggested level whereas the Aliens pic is essentially a JAFAAC. So go for the chess for now.

Agreed, I think it works fine in explaining the trope, and gives full credit to the source of the comic, which the cut version does not do. Original was JAFAAC.
