No, we can't use embedded videos in place of images unless they are Echo Chamber videos.

Right, and animated GI Fs are right out too.

Another idea would be to have the image be from the same moment being quoted. (About 13 and a half minutes into this video.)

I'd disagree. Compare the Light pic with the Shion one. The Death Note picture has narrow, glowing red eyes, dark lighting, and an overall sense of malice. Compare this picture of Mr. Burns◊ - again, ominously underlit with a clearly malicious expression.

Now contrast our current Shion picture, with its wide eyes, upturned eyebrows, and Thousand-Yard Stare. That's not malice, that's someone who just took leave of reality and can react in no other way than to laugh.

They're quite different expressions, no?

Agreed. The Jafar pic on page 2 makes for an even better comparison.

I think the laughing character themselves should be instantly recognisable as evil, which is why I suggest one like this◊.

How about this one◊ then? I think the laugh is fairly clear, with the head back and the eyes closed and everything.

To take a very different approach, how about a ''Firefly'' reference◊? It has the advantage of actually implying an evil act: the "sudden but inevitable betrayal".

I like devil Tim Curry, Jafar, and especially red-eyed Light. All of those images show the "evil" part very well by using common tropes for malice or Obviously Evil characters.

As for whether there's a difference between Evil Laugh and Laughing Mad, I think the current picture of the Joker on Laughing Mad wouldn't work on Evil Laugh, since there's no implied evil in it.

(Although that character is named Darkness.)

I think any of the Sideshow Bob pictures are good.

The sideshow Bob 3 works the best in my opinion. Afar looks like he's talking to me.

I agree. Certainly much better than current.

That image came up in the Clasp Your Hands If You Deceive thread; the version there was cleaner, so that won't have the artifacting issue. Linky as I can't resize it myself currently.◊

Mr. Burns is a good example of this.

That's the file I used to make that pic.

Willbyr's is already clean and I prefer that size.
