I'm surprised Garfield isn't an anime yet, considering how sellou— I mean, franchise-happy Jim Davis is.
Garfield is doing fine with Western studios. And I don't think it's terribly well-known in Japan, while Peanuts is surprisingly popular
Megumi Hayashibara is a big fan, and she's usually Marcie's seiyuu. I hope she's in this time too.

Well, Madhouse has received "Bill Melendez Studio" status as far as animating Peanuts goes, so there will be more.
