Well, I dunno, I didn't know who Paul McCartney was until I was about 15...
Kids learn this stuff at different ages. Some never learn, but that's their own loss.

no one will notice that I changed thisI learned who he was at.... 10?
I really liked The Beatles after watching The Yellow Submarine.

The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well."Who is Bon Iver?" was funny. This was just sad.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. You're too kind. I'd say "dumb as a rock" myself.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I maintain that this whole thing is more scary than funny, although it’s perversely interesting nonetheless.
And there ain't no one goin' to turn me 'round. What I don't even understand is how this is possible in a world where The Beatles still continue to be one of the most popular groups among all generations. This is a generation that theoretically has had plenty of Beatles exposure (direct or otherwise), yet they do not recognize the name Paul Mc Cartney? Or do they think he's dead?*
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I'm having trouble figuring which portion of this group is genuinely that stupid, and which portion decided to start snowballing the trend in a sick trolling-attempt. I seriously hope the vast majority of them are trolls; most of the HMVs in my area either have the Abby Road cover plastered on their walls or are selling Beatles mugs and tees/hoodies/caps. That doesn't even get to the coverage iTunes received for obtaining the rights to their catalog (unless they have the memory of gold fish; it was little more than a year ago).
Sadly, most of the profile pictures of them on Twitter look like middle-school kids or younger.

I know right!! Damn I knew who he was when I was 7.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgThis might be because I'm a hopeless idealist who has a hard time believing that so many people can be that stupid, but I really think that most of those kids are trolls. Hell, I knew who Paul Mc Cartney was years before I actually sat down and listened to a Beatles album for the first time.

To be fair, Beethoven sucks the big hairy ones... I'm pretty much over music with standard instruments, violins, cellos ect. (as opposed to computers). Listening to live musicians playing instruments is always nice though.
Edit: But seriously, that quote is fucking hilarious.

I have a hard time deciding whether or not that quote is worse than the classic "iz not reel muzik if its dun on computrz lolololol".
It's....
...A tough call.
I do believe that bitches be trolling.
He's many different people. He's the member of The Beatles, the lead singer of Wings, the solo artist, the animal rights activist and the occasional actor and producer.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/To be fair, the first Beatles album is almost 50 years old, and he hasn't done anything wroth noting musiclly since Band On The Run.
He's done PLENTY notable music since Band on the Run, just the fact that people consider that Wings' Magnum Opus overshadows his later work most of the time.
For a really good recent album he's done, check out his most recent album done under the name The Fireman, Electric Arguments.
Also, actor? Has he done any acting aside from the movies he did while in The Beatles and Give My Regards To Broad Street?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. To be fair, I don't know who Bon Iver is. And even though I grew up listening to The Beatles I don't think I knew their names individually until I was 10 or so.

I also don't know who Bon Iver is.
I know he's a dude who won a Grammy. But that's it.
I only know who Bon Iver is beacause he was featured on Monster by Kanye West.
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.I don't think anyone but hardcore indie fans knew who Bon Iver was. The best I knew was his name, but I couldn't tell you what kind of music he played.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Yeah. What little I know of their work makes me puzzled as to why they are as popular/above-ground as the Grammy thing would make them appear. It's nice, yes, but not exactly Grammy-bait. Too... folky, by half.

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. What the hell, I don't even like The Beatles and I know who Paul Mc Cartney is.
Didn't he do that thing with Letterman where he played on the theatre's roof fairly recently, or something?
EDIT: I have a theory: this is one big trolling by attention seeking noobs who want to be like 4chan.

It's not quite as odd as it sounds. A lot of young people really only listen to what's on pop radio. They would've heard of the Beatles, but it's old-person music, so they never would've bothered listening to it. They wouldn't have cared who the members of the Beatles were. Hell, they may even have heard Mc Cartney's name, and just not bothered to remember it.
I knew who Mc Cartney was at a fairly young age because I was a douchy little snob. But people who simply don't care about music beyond "It's got a cool beat" aren't going to be particularly aware. I imagine a lot of the kids really only care about music they can dance to.
And a lot of the people would just be trolling, of course.

Are these kids just especially stupid or is everyone else just getting old as hell? I'm pretty young and I know a thing or two about rock history.
Does the term "Living under a rock" apply if seemingly most of the mainstream population are under it together?
