Hooray for the free market!
Now if only I could command people to vote for the correct choice... Grr...
Can I suggest Professor Layton?
The guy is one of the most polite characters in video game history, and he has quite a few adventures under his hat. When I picture Gentleman Adventurer, he is the first thing, for me, that comes to mind.
An "IP suggestion" is not (usually) just an idea, it's an image. At least a result or two from a GIS (Google image search) would be nice. That suggestion appears to be "this would be a good example", but an image is evaluated based on how it looks, not who it's a picture of. (See How To Pick A Good Image and Just A Face And A Caption for a start.)

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think we have an overwhelming consensus at this point, can we go ahead and put it up?
^You need 3 days to call a crowner finished.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI went ahead and called this one, considering the vote count the leader had. Caption or no?
"How does he plan on using that machete without spilling his tea?"
He is spilling his tea. See, there's some splashing out of his cup.
But in any case, "Point out a bit of random Fridge Logic in the image" captions are almost always terrible and add nothing to the image.
Rhymes with "Protracted.""Capital! A spot of tea for a spot of exploring. Tally-ho!"
Yes, yes they are...
"A true gentleman always has time for a spot of tea while hacking his way through dense jungle."
That one's better because it uses "Tally-ho!" and "Capital!" and I find that amusing.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I'll see if I can find a good pic of Othar Tryggvassen!
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!...but why?
Eh, it'd be hard to find one of him being adequately gentlemanly.
I think those extra image pages what tropes have are woefully underused, though, so we can stick a picture of him on there! And I need to put the Beaton comic on one as soon as I remember what the right way to do that is. Image Links?.. Gah, I can't remember.
Why, because he is Othar Tryggvassen, GENTLEMAN ADVENTURER!
Oh, it is Image Links. Question — we aren't allowed to hotlink images, but if an image is already uploaded to TV Tropes, can we just post the image itself? I mean... like, the original trope picture. That's already on the website, so it's not hotlinking, right?..
Well, since we don't really have consensus on a caption, let's just run without. Locking up.

I demand a crowner! Demand, I say.
