That's easy. In fact, it's so ridiculously easy that I'll refrain from answering that ridiculously ridiculous question.

cool

But seriously though, it really is freakin' easy.

Wrong answer.

I used my mad GIMP skills to overlay the two composite triangles for comparison. Even disregarding the missing rectangular chunk, they're not the same. Is that the solution, or just an artifact of the way they're drawn?

I didn't write any of that.

It's not a triangle. A triangle would not have a bend in the middle of the hypothenuse.

Now using Trivialis handle.

But I want to be a good dude, not a bad dude... sad

[up][up] Yes, that's about it.

Spoilers: The red triangle is 8 x 3, and the blue triangle is 5 x 2. Their hypotenuses do not have the same inclination, not at all, and neither of the two figures is really a triangle. The first one is concave, while the second one is convex; and the "belly" of the second one makes for the missing chunk

EDIT: Ninja'd

That's the solution, Meta. They aren't really the same. Just very, very close. Another way to see it is to draw them on gridded paper.

Self thumped, I think. They used to be moderator thumps, too, but they don't use them anymore as they don't convey what is wrong with the posts. With that said, it's better to not self thump, as I (think) it goes to your thump count.

^thump tags trump edit tags, I think.
