IIRC, "Françoise" literally means "French".

So yes, Louise's full name is Louise the French (male) the White of the Valliere (dunno what Valliere means or refers to, though). IIRC, it should be la Blanc, not Le, but my knowledge of French is rather limited, so I might be wrong. The more you know.

I know what it means. It just seems... I dunno, rude?... to call the French Arturia clone "French" as a designation/name. It seems very Hey, You!, sort of. Especially since all the other Sabers but Nero (Italian) are British....

Louise's case, I'm willing to chalk up to the late author going "As Long As Itsounds Foreign..."

@Marq You are stacking the deck too heavily on the "hero" side. The heroes should generally be the underdogs to preserve the narrative tension.

See, my stupid idea gets past that problem, since the conflict isn't about whether Shirou will win the War - if he has all the Servants, then it's pretty obvious he'll win unless he dies when he's killed (which most of the girls wouldn't go for, since killing him means everyone gets terminated). But the Servants are still going to do their damnedest to kill each other regardless, particularly with the likes of Arturia, Mordred, and Elizabeth Bathory among their number.

You know, Eva, you could actually follow the "Assassins must be Hassan" rule that nobody including Nasu in the original game actually gives a shit about, considering that Prototype Assassin is a lady. The thing where she fatally poisons anyone she touches could be an issue, but you know. Hijinks.

Gradually force Shirou to acquire poison immunity. Problem solved.

Alternately, Mordred spent five years in the Middle East and was herself a Hassan. … what? It's not spectacularly more bullshit than King Arthur, his son, Ceasar Nero, and Francis Drake all actually having been women, two of whom (and also Joan of Arc) were identical in appearance to the first!

I'd place Semiramis as Assassin, especially if you're going with Tamamo as Caster, since Semiramis makes for a good enough Medea substitute.

I'd also toss in Arcueid as Temptress/Funny Vamp, and, to have a few immune Only Sane Women around, Shiki as Monster and the dupla of Nanoha and Fate as Magical Girl [[x 2]]. (See the official Nanoha-Fate crossover for details). Dunno if a Savior, Avenger or Beast could be added, however.

I'd probably sooner use Medea than Tamamo for Caster.

If I were to use Magical Girl [[x2]], I'd rather use a duo other than Nanofate. Like, I dunno. Subaru and Teana, or Sailors Mercury and Jupiter, or HF Sakura + Rin (the former with Angra Mainyu's power, and the latter with the Kaleido Dagger as an NP), or Sayaka Miki and Mami Tomoe, or Hermes Costello and Foo Fighters, or Panty And Stocking, or Elpeo Puru and Puru Two (Token Mini-Moe factor, potential Clone Incest threesome with Shirou for the Kaleid Liner fans), etc., etc... Avenger…. I dunno, maybe there's a notable female avatar of Shiva? Savior… eh, there's probably a Vishnu avatar I can use or genderflip… Got nothin' on Beast though.

Arc as Temptress is totally workable, though.

Oh. Well, Medea strikes me as more likely to try and kill her competitors, where Tamamo is IMO more likely to try and kill Shirou even if it's Not What It Looks Like.

And strangely, even though I like Tamamo a bit more, I think I might have an easier time writing Medea.

Medea is far easier to write than Tamamo. I can't fault Eva Unit there.

With Tamamo, it's too easy to Flanderize her into an exaggerated parody of herself.

But every Harem Comedy needs a yandere. Besides, she doesn't try to kill Hakuno if they choose Rin or Rani.

But that's another reason to use her! Characters that are hard to write for are the best because pulling it off feels amazing.
