Truthfully, I do think if Shinji pushed her too far she might go through with killing him.

She almost killed Kerry after the Diarmuud incident, until he finally revealed his motives.

Shinji doesn't have the excuse of a sympathetic motivation (or he kinda sucks at it if you think his reasons are kinda sympathetic). I'd be impressed if he lasted half a day with her as a servant.

I'd be impresed if he lasted twenty seconds. The first time he tries to rape Sakura or Saber, he's dead. Instantly.

And I doubt Zouken will give a crap, high as he'll be on the fact that he's got an I Win Button in the form of Excalibur.

Tainted Ideals has her team up with an Illya who knows the truth behind Kiritsugu's seeming abandonment of her, because he went Implacable Man and fought his way all the through Siberia, Eastern Europe, and finally Germany to reach the Einzbern family's main mansion, burn himself out and accelerating his Grail-given curse's effects both in doing so and in fighting through the Einzberns' magical defenses and familiars to reach Illya in her prison-like tower, where pretty much he told her about the fuck-up that was the Fourth Grail War as well her mother's fate, gave her his Thompson Contender and remaining Origin Bullet(s), Avalon, lament that he failed so utterly in becoming an "ally of justice", and then died in relative peace after she promised him to fulfill said dream.

I didn't find that funny because I sincerely can't see Gil giving a crap about FFVII. I don't think he'd like Cloud very much.

I think it was more the principle of the thing — that is, Gil wants to find out spoilers on his own through normal progression of the story/game, even if they suck and aren't interesting by themselves in his opinion. His pride refuses to accept taking shortcuts, since those are for mongrels, not for him.

EDIT: Wait, scratch that. Just reread the scene. Though what I said does apply for the last bit of the scene, his initial rage is primarily because for some reason, Gilgamesh saw a resemblance between Aerith and Arturia, to the point where he renamed the character to "Saber", and seems to consider it the only good thing about the game. Now Shirou tells him that his dear Saber-expy dies in the middle of the story at the hands of the villain in an inglorious manner, and he Can't. Do. Anything. About. It.
