All-Purpose Nasuverse Fanfiction Thread

Even if Sturgeon's Law is subverted and it's 99% crud, 1% of the Naruto section's fics equal most other fandoms' entire sections. In amount, of course, not quality.

But they are hidden among sea of crap so it's that much harder to find them.

Oh, and IANCE? I blame you for this disparity, because two of those Naruto fanfics I follow are yours. Technically, I also follow Three Jerks and a Scarecrow, but it's not on my list, because it updates once in a blue moon. There is one more author with two fics on my list (Great Clan Days and History's Strongest Shinobi), but you're the leader with two-and-a-half.

When's the next Raijin?

Today, if I'm lucky. I'm working on the one thousand and one reasons why Kakashi should not take a genin team, as explained by Kakashi himself.

Random rambling.

Making Servants out of soldiers from 20th century:

• Archer: Gary Gordon (Randy Shugart works just fine too)
• Assassin: Simo Hayha - Fuck yeah, Nerve Damage!
• Berserker: Leo Major
• Rider: George Patton
• Saber: Jack Churchill

Fuck if I know if it makes sense or not, I just got bored.

I personally like Richthofen as Rider. But you can get decent Riders, Archers and Assassins out of modern Servants; not so much the other classes. I guess some sort of technologist might count as a Caster. Saber, Lancer and Berserker have requirements which modern combat greatly deemphasizes.

I want to write a fic in which Tesla is Caster, dammit!

Also, Yakov Pavlov could make it too. He and his platoon, holed up in a bombed up apartment, held tens of thousands of Nazi troopers for months. His exploits actually helped the Soviet win the Battle of Stallingrad, turning the whole tide of World War II.

What was that one short guy's name again, Audie Murphy? He supposedly was awarded a crap ton of medals right?

Also, I could see Jack Churchill being qualified for a bunch of different classes, off the top of my head-

Assassin- he was a Commando after all

Archer- an Olympic class archer he actually used his longbow on a mission for a stealth kill (supposedly)

Saber- I heard that he actually carried a basket-hilted claymore with him at all times even on missions.

I think there might be more but I can't think of them right know.

He could be considered a Berserker too, what with his "If it wasn't for the Yankies, the war could have gone for ten more years!" comment.

I don't really see how that qualifies him for Berserker. Blood Knight definitely, but not Berserker.

I tend to out Nutjob warrior = Berserker.

Eh, whether he fits or not, it's nothing too important of a matter.

Considering Cuchulainn fits and I don't recall what bits of his legend I know ever mentioning him as a berseker warrior...

I had some ideas for STNSBS snippets - one funny, the other not - but then I started thinking too much and now I want to do 'em as full-on stories.

The funny one? 5th Archer, from Final Fantasy VIII: Laguna Loire.

Warp Spasming Cu has trouble remembering that he's not supposed to be maiming everyone around him. That's pretty textbook berserkery stuff.

What I'm saying is that I don't know if he counts as a hero when he's more of an inhuman monster.

Does Herc count as a hero when he's going around killing his family in a bout of highly specific insanity?
