I wasn't very hot on this image when it was originally selected, but I don't remember any suggestions that were better than so-so. I'm certainly open to alternatives. In particular, I'd be interested in something a little more graphical.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I actually think the current image is great. It's usually a dialogue joke anyway, not a visual one.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Ohhhhh.
I guess I'll put the Hiimdaisy one as a Image Link on Mix-and-Match Weapon.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.That's a much better place for it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNah, the main image is better. That one can stay on image links.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOh ok.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.If something is technically one trope but mainly a different one, it is misleading to put it on the first.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Precisely. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Unless, of course, it doesn't follow the trope TO THE LETTER! This is like returning your toaster because the bread doesn't pop up at THE EXACT PERFECT SPEED.
Blue Pacific, signing off...Or because, you know, the old image showed Mix-and-Match Weapon more than it did this trope and we don't want people to get confused by the image and start putting bad examples on the page...
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm good to lock this and move on, unless someone's got another suggestion they want to bring to the table.
Do it.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Lock it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickGo on ahead. I won't be winning more support any time soon.
Blue Pacific, signing off...How would they get confused just because it showed a mix and match weapon? It also showed this trope too. Rhino Rampage also demonstrates Horse of a Different Color but the page isn't filled with examples of riding rhinos regardless of whether or not they are rhinos doing any damage.
Why does image picking run on Viewers Are Morons? Sometimes they are but let them prove it first, it's not as if the image was about combining matrices and vertices.

Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackUm "straw man argument" means exaggerating the opposing claim. It's not all or nothing, perfect or terrible, understanding or confusion, completely one trope or equally two.
The older image is not as good as the newer one.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Exactly. We basically have a decision between the old image, which demonstrates two separate trope in a way that makes it potentially confusing, and the new image, which only illustrates the trope it's supposed to be illustrating with no extra confusing elements.
Reaction Image RepositorySnake's "Knifegun" wasn't even a Mix-and-Match Weapon at all. It's him holding one in each hand and putting them close to each other.
His train of thought does fit this trope, and in like 77% fewer words.

I have a message from another time...Wait, I'm confused now. So was the Hiimdaisy image good for M&MW Image Links or not?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Not at all. It's not a weapon that is two weapons.
It's Snake holding a gun in one hand, and a knife in the other, and holding them close to each other. The pose is the "knifegun".
I have a message from another time...The trope is three (+?) objects. That is two: a knife and a gun. There isn't a third object that is a "knifegun", it is a combination of the first two objects. This trope isn't just about combining words.
Also, what is the point of this? Crowner? If so, any suggestions besides those two?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Oh. Should I take it off of M&MW Image Links then?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.
Oh I know. I was kind of making a joke.
