Fast Eddie just took an ax to HoYay.Real Life, and this is just "Real Life but a long time ago." It needs to be treated the same way.
Also, before anyone objects that there are legitimate examples of homosexuality in history: People being homosexual, whether in the present or the past, is not Ho Yay. Ho Yay is about an Audience Reaction to fiction.
