Okay. So this is basically a conversation for EVERYONE who would like to join in on the convo.
Basically, anyone.
Anyways...welcome!!!
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

That's my third favorite MCU movie.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI liked it. I liked it a lot. My mother was not a fan. partly because she came in at the middle and has literally never seen a superhero movie ever.
Mum:Who is that?
Me:That's the bad guy.
Mum:why did he just shoot her?
Me:because he's evil.
Mum:but why?
Me:because he's the villain.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseher reaction to the "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight was even better.
Mum:who is that?
Me:that's Bucky. He's that guy's best friend
Mum:then why is he attacking him if he's a good guy?
Me:he's been brainwashed.
Mum:so he's a bad guy?
Me:no, he's been brainwashed, he's not a bad guy, we like him.
Mum:but he's acting bad
Me:yes, but he can't help it.They Brainwashed him
Mum: Who?
Me: the bad guys.
Mum: That's bad of them
Me: yes, because they are evil
Mum:but whhhhhyyyyyyyy?
and then she went on about bad guys needing the Light of Christ. Oy vey, my mother.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseshe's getting old— she's nearly 66— and... yeah. She never used to be this bad. She literally refused to watch Cinderella because of the evil cat wabting to eat a mouse. Mum, I tell her, We have cats and they eat mice. "but that cat is evil! I don't want to watch it!" "Mum, it's animated and no one dies. the mouse is fine. cinderella is fine."
funnily enough, she loves and watches Castle.

Is there something wrong with her?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseno, she's just stretched too thin, really.has to much on her shoulders.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersOh dear, well that's never good.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseMy mom is like that ._. Like, I once had a thriller novel that I really liked, and I told about it, and there was this guy who, like, uses other people's blood to make himself immortal or something (that's not quite how it was but I don't remember the details cause its been forever since I read it) and she was all like "oh no thats a bad book cause that guy is like a demon and whatever blah blah blah" and im like "mom its a thriller, he's the bad guy, its just a book you cant take these things so seriously" but she did take it seriously, and i never saw the book again.
Keep in mind, my parents are the type of people who think all Harry Potter books should be burned. And I am not exaggerating. They literally burned my Harry Potter book.

i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartMy classmate is into young adult vampire novels and apparently her aunt keeps telling her that this is ungodly and against christianity...she even gave her another novel to read that would be an example of "good" literature.
No you can't call me Jar(i) I am not a glass containerWell, to be fair, young adult vampire novels are pretty much against anything good and wholesome.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseDracula ftw
Mum's not that bad. She doesn't like to watch thrillers or scary or action, but she doesn't keep me from reading it. she liked harry potter. ( though she only saw the movies when they each came out, so she was more familiar with the later movies. thus, when we started reading book one, she wondered why snape was acting so mean when he was a "good guy")
I was always allowed to read anything I could. swears and sex and stuff went over my head until I was much older, so they didn't worry. Still, I mostly stuck to YA Fantasy, and still do, because I'm not fond of sex in books (or at all) and prefer characters that aren't lowlife scum with no morals. those are interesting characters, but I'm more prone to the Purity Sue type.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersI don't care if it's acceptable in British English, stuff like "Disney are" or "Nintendo are" or "Tumblr are" will always, always be grammatically incorrect to me.
Even if it's in a sentence like "Disney are money making cash whores?"
ಠ_ಠIt's like saying "The members of the community is meeting in the park today", to me. But I use wacky American grammar, so what do I know.
Americans think corporations are people. They even put it into their laws recently...
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'A fact which I still reject to this day as an American citizen. I wouldn't be surprised if the only reason that got accepted was because there was a majority of corporate lobbyists that managed to force that bill into law. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Living The Fever DreamNot a bill. Case law. Citizens United, and more recently Burwell v. Hobby Lobby.

I watched CATWS with my ma yesterday.
the only thing better than the movie was her reactions.
keep in mind, this is the woman who walks away from Disney movies because they have violent/scary/depressing parts. she won't even watch Cinderella with me because of the cat's evilness.
so that was fun.
