Twist: He can't actually do a standard attack. It's replaced with Suppression.
What's wrong with commentary? It's kind of part of the entire demo.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshi@Telekinetics being boring: I don't know, I'd like to see troopers being able to telekinetically launch one enemy into another, dealing damage to both.
Or chuck somebody so high up into the air that they're removed from combat for X turns, falling back down screaming once the effect ends. "aaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAA- (splat)"note
I would so laugh my ass off at that...
It's a far less effective version of the normal one, because rounds that are going no where near you aren't really threatening.
Looking at the demo again, have you guys noticed your overwatching soldiers no longer all fire at the same guy at the same time. I thought it was a nice touch.
I hope this means that I can have like 5 guys on overwatch and if the first 2 kills the moving alien then the remaining 3 keeps their overwatch.
#IceBearForPresidentI DIDN'T NOTICE THAT AND THAT MAKES ME VERY HAPPY
... OMG I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT EITHER!
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Very nice.
But I'm not sure what would happen if one enemy sets off both overwatching guys and the first one is a killshot. Will the second guy preserve overwatch stance or not?
I'd imagine that each Overwatch is rolled one at a time now, such that if two are queued against the same alien and the first is a kill, the second will move on to the next applicable alien.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiHopefully it will prioritize the one closest to the target. Oh how I wish we could set targeted Overwatch — that is, have the Soldier designate one enemy so that only it would trigger an Overwatch from that Soldier. Or at least give the Sharpshooter this ability, so that I can have him/her focus their lethal power against the most dangerous enemy instead of wasting shots on the Cannon Fodder.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I'm not sure anything that happened in the trailer actually means anything about gameplay: the whole thing is just a long cutscene they put together using the game engine.
Yeah, but from the commentary breaking concealment with overwatch being some of the cool new things that you can do it probably Works similar to that, even if it is only when breaking the concealment.
I wonder just how practical it will actually be to do that, though. I mean, if Rookies have 65 Aim and we have to deal with a x0.7 Overwatch multiplier again, that ambush could easily backfire.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiPretty sure ambushed enemies get a minus to dodge. Or at least they fucking well should.
yeyIt's gonna have to be a huge one to overcome a 45.5% base Overwatch hit rate. Alternatively, it could be a nominal penalty and everyone could just have better Aim, but who am I kidding? This is XCOM, where our "soldiers" are just hobos kidnapped off the street who can't shoot for shit.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiIn Xenonauts, they were explicitly taken from elite formations and spec ops.
...but they still shot like the former.
Hehe, yeah. At least it's not like original X-COM or TFTD, where this was a thing:
And yes, I have actually witnessed my supposedly crack soldiers somehow gun each other down when they're at 30 degree angles from each other.

yeyNo new footage though :P At least not yet
Goddamnit, it was nothing new after all.

yeyIt's a lot of fluff, but:
- Passive: Command Aura. Provides increased Aim and increased damage to ADVENT Troops.
- Unclear if damage increase is general increase, increased damage cap, increased crit cap. or increased crit chance.
- Active: Mark for Death. Target one visible enemy. All ADVENT Troops target that enemy when firing. No other known modifiers.
- Active: Reinforcement Call. Summons squad of ADVENT Troops.
The article version of the above also points out that ADVENT is the Human arm of the alien occupation, and not the aliens themselves.
More like Robocop.
Has anyone found a no-commentary version of that gameplay demo video yet?
