Hamsterman linked the outliers. Look up Darth Zannah and her apprentice for what female Sith generally look like.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."So, basically, naturally pretty people are usually more noble than ugly people, because the exceptions aren't actually pretty. Makes perfect sense.
Anyway, I hope we get some better stills on the new ships. The blurry shots of the new ISD and the shuttle were just teasing. I also wonder how the Resistance cruisers would look - probably smoother and rounder, with some rougher-looking stragglers here and there. Ever since I learned they'd go back to practical effects, I just want to see if it would affect the space aspect.
Looking at it as ugly vs pretty is being intentionally myopic. There's tonnes of ugly aliens in Star Wars that are good.
And knowing you're the bad guy is one of the defining characteristics of being a sith. They know what they're doing is wrong, but it's just that they don't care. All that matters to a sith is number 1, themselves.
Since you Godwin'd first... Hitler and his party believed what they were doing was right and that it would lead to a stronger and better Germany. Palpatine did the things he did purely for Palpatine. There was no grand design or an end that justified his actions: he did it because he wanted to rule the Galaxy. He gave 0 smucks about anyone but himself, as anyone worth calling a sith should.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Ugly aliens is a humanocentric viewpoint, btw. Star wars is soft sci-fi, but not so soft that they would throw out conventions like "but pockmarks are a sign of beauty in my species!" things like that.
Specism(?) exists in Star Wars also, with certain species considering some to be beneath them. The twi'leks get this treatment, for example.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Yoda straight up admits he's an ugly old wrinkle.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyWere did I use a Godwin? Nowhere did I superficially compare something to the Nazis to make it look equally bad as them. Not every mention of the Nazis is a Godwin.

I hope the new bad guys are given more believable motivations.
Whoops.

I find amusing that C-3PO didn't know who Leia was in New Hope despite being in the service of Bail Organa, her adoptive father. I guess he and R2 were on too many wacky adventures to care about their master's personal life, not to mention they probably went through other owners during said adventures before going back to Bail.

It sounded to me at some point that they were transferred to the ownership of the ship's captain. Threepio says "our last master was Captain Antilles," and Antilles was, for some reason, Bail's name before he became Viceroy of Alderaan (maybe his wife was the royal family Organa and he married in?), but then had a brother or something who was in charge of the Tantive IV.
Doesn't Bail turn the droids over to Captain Antilles at the very end of Revenge of the Sith.
Yup, i just forgot.
Is Captain Antilles of Alderaan related to Wedge?

Wedge was Corellian according to old canon.
Nah, it's just Names The Same.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. It's just a rumor but Visceral's Games' might be debuting their new Star Wars title at E3 within five weeks:
Also, wasn’t Senator Antilles (mentioned once in Ep 1) no relation to either Wedge or Captain Antilles? I think the intent was that "Antilles" is to the galaxy far far away what "Smith" is to us: a very generic surname.
There's also a Skywalker family wine.
but HOW?Senator Antilles was Bail. Hence his name changed when he got married.
To continue a conversation from the Ep 7 thread: Are there any EU stories that gave a good look at the Imperial Army outside the Stormtroopers? The movies made it look like the Stormtroopers were the entire Army, and I got the impression that a lot of EU authors forgot about the rest of the Army and just made the Stormtroopers do everything.
Reading the dark lords novel now. There's a big thing about how there's very few Stormtroopers on Ryloth and how the regular military is screwing up the Empire's occupation there. It's also mentioned the regular military hates Vader, while the Stormtroopers revere him almost like a god (because Vader leads from the frontlines and does some really cool shit there).
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."That's why the 501st really liked him in the old EU also, he wasn't afraid to go in and deal with things if it was bad.
I feel like the thing he did here (in the first battle of the novel, no less) might be Vader's coolest "battlefield" moment ever. He launches his cruiser into an enemy turret on a larger spaceship, but moments before collision, he ejects himself into the vacuum of space, and then uses the force to propel himself onto the ship and through the hole his cruiser created in the hull. Then he proceeds to wipe out every single rebel onboard.
Maybe this new canon isn't so bad after all.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."
And I never said you could . . . what I said is that evil people don't TEND to look totally glamorous and good to start with. There's generally something blocking it. And you really can't roll with models on this because those people are just as fucking flawed in appearance as most people. They wear a lot of makeup and their god damned photos are usually FAKE.
Human beings are generally ugly, we just cover it up with a lot of products designed to make us look like some nonexistent ideal. Star Wars just has the added bonus of magical cover-up effects for evil Force users.
