Split it off into "Guides that do not contain the answer to Guide Dang It! s" imo.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I made the crowner and I added that option because some people mentioned just taking out the complaining magnet examples. I apologize if that was unclear from the crowner itself. While I agree that there really are no good examples, I thought it was better to try to be neutral when putting together the crowner.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention though.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhy? This strikes me as something that would benefit from more input. Most people agree that "doing nothing" is not the right solution, and people disagree about what is.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Somehow it had been moved to the morgue, but wasn't locked. I've moved it back out, since there is no indication that it's concluded.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Wherever this belongs, this dose not belong under Guide Dang It!. I don't really think we need a page for complaining about bad guides at all.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianConsidering there's way more downvotes in the crowner than counterarguments in the thread, I think this is a case of drive-by voting by people who haven't actually read the thread. So maybe we should just get more votes from people who have.
It's pretty obvious that a trope about needing a guidebook to pass some part of a game cannot apply to a medium that's not a game. What's next, Guide Dang It! / Films where people assert that you need a guidebook to play the video?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I'd rather just move the examples to a new trope page, but I'm probably in the minority here.
It could be useful for those who are thinking of getting a guide for a certain game, but don't know how much it doesn't cover, or what information is incorrect.
Purpose of this page: "To inform about the shortcomings of certain game guides."
Cut.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Crowner called.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Cutlisted it, removed the wicks and made the note on the discussion page.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSigh.... can someone still YKTTW a Useless or Incomplete Strat Guide trope?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Don't know, but in case they need the content of this page, I've rescued it over to Sandbox.Guide Dang It Game Guides.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's been cut now, but the re-YKTTW'ing - opinions?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, what we don't need is a page of "complaining about guidebooks you don't like".
What would be interesting is a page about books that don't contain what they're advertised to contain. That would include strategy guides that lack pertinent strategies, but it's broader than that: it would also include e.g. a "get rich quick" guide that doesn't actually tell you how to get rich. This can be an objective trope.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I looked a little bit more at the sandbox of stuff that was deleted and I am not convinced that this is something we want to have as a trope. It just looks like complaining.
Like, that could be a trope, but I doubt there'd be anything to salvage from here for it.

Rhymes with "Protracted."I concur.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Alright. Posting to announce that if someone wants to re-YKTTW a trope as mentioned in Raso's post, they are free to do so and use Sandbox.Guide Dang It Game Guides if they need it.
Here, we are done. Lock-hollering.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Crown Description:
- The page is rife with complaining.
- The page's content does not match the definition of Guide Dang It, meaning every example on it is a case of misuse, fueling Trope Decay.
Who even wrote that crowner?
...There's no GOOD examples. None of them match the definition of Guide Dang It!. So both options are the same thing. Only one of them keeps a blank page.
