"METAL GEAR SOLID RISING was a spin-off intended to feature the actions and transformation of Raiden, one of METALGEARSOLID 2 SONS OF LIBERTY’s main characters, in the lead-up to METALGEARSOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS.
However, after Platinum Games came on board, the story was changed to take place several years after METALGEARSOLID 4 to give them more of an opportunity to show off what they can bring to the series. Cyborgs are spreading at a rapid pace in the game’s world, resulting in earth-shattering superhuman action at every turn! The original aim for a combination of stealth and action has also been enhanced, for a more aggressive new focus on pure, exhilarating action."
Jack, you can't catch a break.

......………
What the heck?
That's what I mean by different and What Could Have Been. An MGS game with a bigger emphasis on action while still maintaining the stealth aspect would've been a sight to see. This is... just another over-the-top action game. Platinum Games knows their over-the-top action games to be sure, but I'm not quite looking forward to this game as much as I was before.

In contrast, I now want it more.

Interview with the producer.
...how likely is this to be another case of Never Trust a Trailer? I started playing the games a bit weirdly, so I may not know, but isn't Kojima kind of known for that kind of thing?
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlConsidering how much stammering and panicking he was doing, I don't blame him. Really should've taken a deep breath. XD
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987...I don't think I want this.

JACK GAVE UP THAT LIFE! HE HAD BEEN SYMBOLICALLY MADE HUMAN AGAIN BY THE RETURN OF THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE AND HIS SON, HIS REWARD FOR HIS HUGE SACRIFICES IN THE LAST MISSION! HE IS HUMAN AGAIN! GAAAH!!
I hate to be that guy that says Ruined Forever, but quite seriously, fuck this game, and fuck Platinum for making it! Kiss the ugliest part of my fat ass! If they wanted freedom and to not have to worry about the MGS Canon, then make a new fucking IP and don't ruin one of the most beautiful epilogue scenes in any videogame ever! GHDD...BFDV....FUCK!!!
Easy there, soldier. Calm down. There are more eloquent ways to get your point across.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadHere's one: They're going back on the ending. It makes him angry. Grr.
Moving to suggest this'll be made non-canon.
Against all tyrants. So is it now like a Retcon?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Or maybe All Just a Dream. Or some other Kojima screwover.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadWhy be stingy? Both my dear boy!
Sabian beat me to the punch.
Against all tyrants.I saw the trailer at the end of the VGAs. It was beautiful. I totally dig Raiden's samurai philosophizing. Although it makes me wonder why he's a cyborg ninja.
After seeing the trailer, I'll make a bold prediction: Ninja Gaiden 3 and other action games don't stand a chance. Revengeance makes them look like old hags with myopic imagination and scale. What I'm saying is, I want it.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyFair enough, good sir.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadOn going against the supposed end of Raiden's story:
If one pays attention to some of the recurring themes in Metal Gear, one that pops up quite frequently is the general feeling that a soldier is only ever 'done' when they die. Its in this that it actually makes sense that, no matter how hard he tries to go against it, Raiden is still a soldier and still has to fight.
So, this is just a 3D beat 'em up now? Pass.
I'm saying I wonder what the finished product would've been like if Konami had still been the one developing the game.
