[up]They have to find a lot of sound alikes.

It'd be hard to get Eccleston back too.

Not disagreeing with you though.

There will be multiple Doctors. The game is multiperiod.

[up]

I'm guessing only a few of them will be voiced then. At the most, I see Matt and David making it in. Not sure about the others. Although the oldest right now is Tom Baker, but the rest aren't getting any younger.

What games have the developers done before?

Here's their site. Start The Party seems to be their biggest game so far. They've also done level packs for Little Big Planet 2.

There will be multiple Doctors. The game is multiperiod.

Are you basing the former argument on the latter statement? 'Cause the show routinely does multiple time periods without multiple Doctors appearing.

The question is will it only do the modern doctors?

The game is the first part of a trilogy.

Oh, and who says there will be Doctors you've seen before?

I love the idea of time travel being a major gameplay component. Games have done this before (Ocarina of Time, Day of the Tentacle) but it's never been explored to a great degree.

Thread hoppin' all the way down here to bring up Radiant Historia.

Apart from him being a smug prick who seems to actually leech away the charisma of the show, who seems to embody a hypocrisy greater than any other Doctor, apart from being an almost total betrayal of what the Doctor is supposed to embody, who seems to create Oo C moments for every bloody villain, historical figure and show character that he comes into contact with, who seems to see fit to make it so he's the most important Doctor ever without doing anything of importance or making one bit of effort to make us like him apart from wearing that fucking bow tie? No, not really.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, so I'm just gonna assume you are another one of those people who only watched David Tennant's run as the Doctor.

Plus, he's the one with delivery like Shatner.
The actual Shatner can act when given the oppurtunity and the right situation, despite what the shallow, pop-culture filtered parodies tend to imply. Just so you know.

And about the game, after all those other Doctor Who spinoff games that were at best decent but underwhelming, I personally would keep my expectations on the ground, but who knows..

PS. Looks like it's a platformer, not an adventure.

Apparently, an adventure game is just way too hard to make.

I've always thought the Weeping Angels would make great enemies in a first person game. Especially one that used the engine from that one Sherlock Holmes game. You know the one.

Well... It's something. Looks a bit outdated, though.

Also, strange way to market it.You'd think just showing sequences with the aliens and monsters would be enough.

I find it funny how they want to stick the creepy nursery rhyme in, but apparently couldn't think of anything good to do with it because they'd already used The Reveal for what it's about. Also, I imagine this could just end up being the only platformer ever made to feature with more Advancing Boss of Doom levels than actual fights (not counting games with no actual fights at all). It'd have to be if it stays true to the show but features Cybrmen and Daleks, and the trailer certainly makes it look like it. That or it'll have a lot of rather justified ForcedStealthLevels.

While I'm happy to see the Silence in there because they're such awesomely creepy villains, I can't possibly imagine how they could work in a videogame. Massive Interface Screw is a given if they're gonna appear outside of cutscenes.

Wow. This looks terrible.

Not everything needs a video game adaptation. Especially when it's based on something where the hero usually wins the day by out thinking his opponent. Why is the Doctor doing parkour now? Why is River in a catsuit? Who thought this was a good idea?

Really, what's the point of this? It's not going to be a great game, it's not going to make a lot of money, and this Eternity Clock thing is never going to be mentioned again, which will probably create plot holes.

No, I am not optimistic about this, why do you ask?

For the River in a catsuit point, she was wearing that in The Pandorica Opens.

^^Oh come on. The Doctor, in all his recent incarnations and possibly all period (though I say possibly because I know the first few actors were older guys), does a lot of running. It's, like, one of his things. And in a videogame, the only way to make a section where you're running to or from something interesting is if you're being shot at (which is tough to do right) or by adding parkour (or both).

Also, there's not a lot of money in an adventure game compared to this kind, I think. They're kinda old hat and not many people care about them. If they can pull off a platformer, it'll be worth trying. Of course it probably will be a mediocre game, but they'll probably sell more copies of a lousy platformer than the best point and click adventure in five years.

Running I'm fine with. That makes sense. It's all the jumping and climbing about that doesn't sit well with me. I don't think we've ever seen him do that. No, wait we have. That one time he became an acrobat in another crappy game way back starring 7. When he also started shooting shit.

Which brings me to my next point: the Doctor wouldn't make a very good playable character. His only real use will be the screwdriver, most likely to be used to make some sort of hacking mini-game, which to most people would be boring. But River was practically made for this job. She's more athletic and will have a gun to kill everything with. This playstyle will make the game easier and make playing as the Doctor undesirable. Nobody will want to be him in his own game. Every time she appears she totally overshadows him. Hey! They ARE being faithful to the show!

Even better, use a camera (like that Eye Toy thing) so the game knows when you blink.
