Where'd you find that? And that looks more like the intro to the movie than just a trailer. Though that wouldn't explain why Megumi, Hime, and Ayumi showed up at the end...

Heh, the only time I could Stand Hibiki and Kande was in this intro.

Kanade: "Gee I hope Hibiki will like the cake I made for her."

Hibiki sneaks from underneath the table

Hibiki: "Yoink!"

Kanade: "Get back here!"

Hibiki: "Woop woop woop woop.

[up] I would love you forever but since you suggested Pretty Cure would be more famous by being dubbed by 4Kids I cant.

I think Blue Water/Toei's dub did justice to the show and gave it some exposure in Canada and The UK.

I know its frustrating that it seems to skip the USA alot of times but dont worry, Gangnam Girls/Glitter Force is coming! grin

...Hey! You said you wanted exposure right?evil grin 4kids would have just dubbed like half of the first series then ditch it in about 5 mins. Say what you want about Saban but he gives his shows lots of exposure.

Gangnam Girls/Glitter Force is coming!

No. It's been dropped, apparently, just like how the Kamen Rider reboot was dropped, I think.

Thank god, because those are stupid names. Not even 4kids would do something like that.

Then its a bummer. Since Saban DOES have the rights and has to drop them before Toei gets the rights again.

Just started watching episode 1 of Happiness Charge Pre Cure (because it's the most accessible one at the moment).

Damn, it looks so freaking retro. =.=

And that's a bad thing because...

[up] Sorry, I just can't quite get used to it. It's like I'm watching Doraemon again or something. :x

Episode5: That was terrible acting.

Nice to see that a certain spoiled princess has more street smarts than her partner.

That was kinda dumb. Like, come on. Less talking, more getting yourself out of there.

Episode 6: Ehh...not much to say, except that my very first thought was that Oomori is very likely to become a Pre Cure herself. And what do you know, this show's page confirms it. o.O

By the way, did no one notice that one of the possible kanji for the name "Megumi" is 愛 (Ai; "Love")? I went ahead and added that to the page by the way. Oh, and that means that Aino Megumi's name can be read as "Love of Love". [lol]

EDIT: It just got even more meta. Her VA is Nakajima Megumi, one of the more well-known people with that particular kanji-pronunciation combination.

Everyone was sort of already guessing it since her name is leaked, mostly because of her seiyuu in the first place. Though, Mana is slightly harder to translate the 'love' connotation of as the pronounciation is pretty archaic. After all, Precure is all about Meaningful and Punny Name.

The opening kind of spoiled it. Sunshine and Ace are the only ones whose identities surprised me, and Sunshine was mostly because I marathoned Heartcatch.

You know, if this season is the equivalent of Kamen Rider Decade, will the next seasons after it try what the Neo-Heisei Rider seasons are doing and try to make each season have some sort of true continuity with one another (And not the All Stars stuff all the time)?

[up]I wouldn't mind seeing something like the characters from next season making an Early-Bird Cameo during the last episode of the previous season.

[up]There are no sources that say this, but the fact is we have heard nothing about Glitter Force other than the fact that Saban has a trademark for it. The fact that nothing seems to have come from Saban's apparent distribution rights to the Pretty Cure license suggests that there are no plans to do anything with the property.

I imagine they tried to look for someone who would be willing to produce and air a localization, but based off trends in children's television, I doubt executives and toymakers are interested in a foreign magical girl show.

I just realized what Ribbon is. If she were a human, she'd be a maid. Servant to a rich girl, looks out for her, cooks for her, is plenty willing to make snide comments at her.

It's time to look at the second blue Cure in the series. She's always overshadowed, but she probably does not mind one bit. She's the soaring bird, not-White. Probably better known as Cure Egret.

Okay, I haven't actually watched Splash Star in awhile, and since Splash Star isn't talked about much, I don't exactly remember Mai well. And when people do talk about her, it's usually about the villains. Still, there are some things to say. First, you can't talk about Mai without also mentioning someone else. No, it's not Saki, but Honoka. Given their physical and personality similarities, such comparisons are impossible to avoid, especially when Mai came right after two years of Honoka. Mai follows in Honoka's footsteps as the blue, smart, quieter Cure, and initially she seems like a rip off of Honoka. That's because she is, but to be fair it didn't take that long for her to differentiate, mostly because they actually were in pretty different circumstances. Still, first impressions are important, and thus she gets stuck in Honoka's shadow, always being seen as the lesser one. To any new viewers of Pretty Cure, it's best not to watch Splash Star right after Max Heart, as that easily leads to backlash.

Mai really isn't too complex of a character, but that doesn't mean she isn't interesting. The first thing that stands out is her love of drawing. It's her hobby and passion, just like Saki's sports or Miyuki's fairy tales. It comes up a lot, as she's often seen sketching something. She can get too into it, often ignoring other things. As a blue Cure she's obligated to be smart, though I don't think she was a genius or anything. She got good grades, but wasn't at the top of her class. I could be remembering wrong though. She's also very polite, in the running for most polite Cure in the series. Possibly too polite, as it often prevents her from speaking her mind about something important. She's incredibly observant, managing to deduce the Kiryuu twins' identities from a long distance.

Her most important relationship of course is with Saki, the girl she met both years ago and just when the series began. It's here that the differences between Mai and Honoka become really apparent. While Honoka was more or less the idol of their class, Mai was a transfer student, and thus had no reputation in school. This put her and Saki on a more even ground at the beginning, as neither of them are looking up to the other. Of course, since Mai is so polite and soft-spoken, she's easily pushed around by the more energetic Saki, causing her to mostly follow Saki wherever. Mai was the more responsible of the pair, trying to keep them on task, but only found limited success. The two became best buds more or less instantly, with less conflict than their predecessors. One one hand, you could say they get along better. On the other, there's less to say about their relationship, since there's less development of it. The biggest exploration of their friendship was in the movie, which showed how awkward things got when they fought. For those who don't remember, it was mostly Saki being a moron while Mai finally got pushed too far. Its not a bad relationship, but not the most interesting one.

Her other relationships were also standard. She got along well with her family. She quickly acclimated with Saki's group, but sadly I don't think she ever got her own group of friends separate of Saki. This has to do with her being a transfer student and having less screen time. Again, I could be remembering wrong though. Then there were the Kiryuu twins, who I believe she ended up being an unintentional mentor for. She was the polite example for them, showing how to behave normally and politely. Or something like that at least. She definitely wanted to avoid a confrontation with them when she figured out what they were, and it paid off in the end, allowing her to be prepared when they revealed themselves.

As the Cure of birds, Egret's fighting style seemed to be more movement based, constantly dodging and often taking to the skies to get to her enemy. She also had her shields, but didn't use them quite as much as Bloom did. She was a quick fighter, not as speedy as March, but still fast. In addition, she did double duty as the Cure of the wind, Cure Windy, where she had more distance attacks with her wind and even better control in the sky. There was no actual reason for her to return to Egret at that point, but she did. Kaoru inherited her powers at the end, but alas All Stars indicates it was only temporary. Lame. The two do impress a lot in them though.

She will always live in Honoka's shadow, but that does not make her a bad character. She grew into her own person with her own quirks and characteristics, and ended things on a satisfying note. Unfortunately, she is one of the least notable members of one of the most crowded archetypes. At least she can take solace that she was eventually vindicated.

Some footages from DDPC movie have been leaked, including the OP and ED. I advise to not add movie tropes until the subs are out, though.

Though judging from what I've seen, there are some disturbing imageries and a Fridge Horror regarding the true nature of the fairies. But the beginning has some lighthearted stuffs too. The scene between the Cures and Those Two Guys in particular manages to be both a Take That! and Ship Tease to a certain not-so-obscure-thanks-to-the-finale pairing.

I want to see the DokiDoki movie for one reason, seeing Davi punch things. And hopefully some of Makoto's backstory. Don't have much hopes for it otherwise.

What kind of interactions between the Cures would you like to see in the All Stars movies. For example, Ako/Hime would be interesting, seeing how they're both princesses. Urara/Makoto for the two idols. Kurumi/Ellen, for the two fairies turned Cures.
