Watched Episode 7.

The dumb villain continues to be entertaining, but I'm not sure if he should be the one to corrupt sentient being. I feel that power should be reserved to more sophisticated baddies.

The Vice Principal is really funny in this episode. Makes me like him a bit more.

Oh, I watched the English dub for this episode. I think Nagisa's dialog is better written in this, but the voice acting is generally a step down from the already unimpressive JP dub and the Dub Name Change is irritating.

Unfortunately, the Canadian Ocean Group dub is the closest we get to a more closer to text dub then the Saban Dub of Smile and Doki Doki.

Oh boy, those are a mess.

6. Crossover movie looks like a crossover movie. Hana is very insistent on a date. Don't know why she needs to go that slow when she's already got a kid with them. Saaya certainly has broad tastes. I think it's time to take away Harry's father privileges. Or maybe Hugtan secretly wants to kill Harry. What's with Precure villains having their own vehicles as of late? Looks like no one actually reported Etoile. Doesn't seem like Pupple will be much of a serious villain, but no matter. Lulu is coming to save the day.

Harry being the the reason for the Lost Child announcement instead of huggtan made me actually lol. I don't think I've done that at a Precure series in a while. I guess having Kazuma in your voice cast does that for you. XD!

Watched episode 8 of Futari wa

Wow, Nagisa fot the Jerkass Ball in this episode. Poor Honoka.

The villain is actually scary on this episode. Too bad he is a second fiddle to the main plot.

So the notebooks have electronic devices in them. I guess I should have guessedit since they are toys and all but the paper portion is tiny! On a related note, DON'T READ OTHER PEOPLE'S DIARY WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION!

The frustrating thing about the Blue Water dub is that I haven't been able to find a copy of the ending song, which unlike the opening, was supposed to have been an actual adaptation of "Get You! Love Love!" And the bootleg recordings of full episodes seem to all just replace the credits with the Japanese versions anyway.

You realize that the ending isnt really the ending for the dub? Its an in episode plot relevant song that was dubbed in show.

Watched episodes 9 and 10

Thoughts on episode 9.

  • Yeah, I don't like Mepple at all, and his Sick Episode doesn't change my mind.
  • Another scary Monster of the Week gets taken down unceremoniously. At least this time the girls are frightened.

Thoughts on episode 10.

  • I really like the characters of the week in this episode. Both Honoka's parents and the robbers.
  • Uh, Mr. Bad Guy, you have a big monster that can split into smaller monsters. Maybe they can help you sort out the jewels. Man, you are descending to Pisard's level of mediocrity.
  • Overall, I enjoy this episode. Hopefully there will be more Honoka-focused episodes.

Max Heart adds a new character. A really passive character, but new all the same.

[up][up] And now you know why the franchise runs on Alternate Continuities. Personally, I enjoyed Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Go Go, but I enjoy having a new cast with each new year that much more.

Watched episode 11.

  • The fight against Shark Gekidrago (finally remembered his name!) is the best so far, but still sub-par.

  • Man, the series is trying pretty hard to make me like characters that annoy me.

Watched episode 12

  • Poisona is really a step up. She goes straight for the morphers by using spy tactics and mental manipulation (though I don't know where she got the info on the girls). The only flaw in her plan is plot contrivances.

I don't want this. I don't like Mana but I'd prefer her to Nagisa. Yeah I get that it's meant to celebrate the 15th anniversary but the 15th anniversary isn't even this year, Toei's just celebrating it a year early.

So the KiraKira movie is out.

Petit Dream Stars

Quick little short of the fairies being cute. Not much to say other than Pafu is apparently the dumbest of this group. Too bad we didn't get Cure Mofurun to solo the dragon.

Crisply! The Memory of Mille-feuille!

Are, are they allowed to just set up shop in front of the Eiffel Tower? Did they get a permit, or are they continuing their little illegal shop? The staff must have been excited to visit Paris again. Opening fight was one of the best in the series honestly, proving that it wasn't lack of CQC that made the fights lame, but lack of creativity, interesting moves, and good animation. Oh shit, the Maho Girls are in the main movie. I thought they'd be in a side story or something. Jean-Pierre is more quirky and less menacing than I imagined honestly. I do like how his quirkiness means he's broke though. Cook was obviously super-evil the moment she appeared. The backstory was enjoyable, filling in the last few holes we had from Ciel's time in Paris. Plus we got more Waffle Bro, and that's always a gift.

Pekorin really should've said something earlier about the mark on Ciel. Would've saved a little trouble. Cook makes the third villain Yukari has revealed. She should get paid for this. Poor Kirarin, not even being able to fly. Not transforming would be the smarter option. I like how Whip just becomes useless when transformed. Which kind of describes her most of the movie actually. Custard and Chocolat carrying the team, and Gelato knows how to be efficiently lazy. Macaron just doesn't care. So the Kiras know the Maho Girls. Well that brings up all sorts of issues. I've got to wonder what they taxi guy thought when 5 cosplaying Japanese girls desperately needed a ride.

The big monster is more goofy than I'd like, but it's KiraKira, so what do you expect. Cook's evil plan is to turn the world into one big sweet for revenge because no one liked her desserts. Honestly, more appropriate for this show than whatever Noir was doing. Gotta love Macaron psychoanalyzing the evil fairy. Miracle Lights are still annoying. Wish they'd just go away, but they've been more intrusive in the past. Parfait carrying the end as she should. Best patisserie makes best super dish. Good work tying the last bit with the lessons she got way back. I like how Cook just straight up died. For once no sympathy for the cute fairy. Though something is wrong with the KiraKira universe and how it keeps reincarnating bad guys who technically died long ago. Of course Ciel wouldn't win after not being able to concentrate, but second at her age is still good.

I don't like KiraKira that much, but this was honestly one of the best movies in the franchise. The focus on Ciel over Ichika was the best decision they could've made, and unlike the Suite movie's faux-Ako focus this actually delivered on its promise to flesh out Ciel. The others were non-obtrusive, but they had just enough moments to shine so as to not be wasted. The villains were entertaining and developed just enough to satisfy me considering how much time they had. Fights were a step up from the show, but the movies always are. This might actually elevate the entire show for me. Just a bit.

I don't know why the Maho Girls were in the movie seeing how little they did (aside from a marketing gimmick), but this brings up all sorts of implications. They recognized each other, which means Dream Stars is probably canon. Which means the GoPris and Maho Girls exist in this universe at the very least. Which means it's canon that the older teams not helping out with the main villain must be some sort of yearly hazing ritual for the newcomers. I'm going to have fun with this.

I'm subscribing the theory of the mutual super effective; that the bad guys can't be defeated for good if not fought by the appropriate Precure team because their power also derived by the McGuffin of that particular Precure team and vice versa. Those who aren't part of the equation will job despite they should be able to defeat the bad guys themselves because their powerlevel is scaled down against those kind of enemies so the current heroes can show off. Those associated with multiple teams for whatever reason (All Stars' villains) become mutual enemies of those multiple teams, thus their power scaled appropriately to their endgame strength.

I know there's no canonical proof for that, but let me dream a little.

7. This show certainly isn't shy about piling on layers on the heroines. Saaya technically being an aspiring actress is something I didn't see coming, but she doesn't seem particularly passionate about it. She's just doing it because her mom did it, and she doesn't exactly dislike it either right now. Good job on making it ambiguous on whether she'll stick with it. Also, another Ranko. Those are always fun. Lots of good writing for Saaya this time. And someone taking extra care to animate her taking her sock off. Hana clearly doesn't get what Saaya's deal is, but Homare definitely understands the anxiety of performing in front of a crowd. Both are assholes for interrupting the audition though. Purple has a boyfriend. Wonder if that will lead to anything. Good on Lulu for being frank about the Cures' strengths and weaknesses. And anyone who owns a UFO can't be evil. Saaya still hasn't sorted out what she wants, and in the meantime we've got another cliffhanger. Saaya and Homare have so much more baggage compared to your standard Cure that's for sure.

8. Okay, the writers are totally biased towards Homare. She keeps on getting the best and most interesting episodes. The invitation to Moscow seems a bit premature since she's still out of practice and needs to get back her groove. Though I suppose childhood friends gives them some leeway on this invitation. Homare is passionate about skating, but she's not yet ready to go that far apparently. And of course she's got things to do back home. Along with stealing Saaya's angel gimmick. Henri was surprisingly well developed, with a few quirks of his own, a valid perspective on what Homare should be focusing on, and being willing to admit when he's mistaken. And he might not be a one-shot character? He knows, and he's staying. Could be very interesting. Purple showed a bit of depth with her boyfriend, and she's right that traffic is just a waste of time. Hana was the big surprise however. She got put on the spot well with how much her cheering is worth, and that's not over yet. Coupled with Purple's presumed boyfriend spouting off stuff going way in over her head, even she's got an interesting arc ahead of her.

I appreciate how mature and full of Integrity the writing is for the series, even more so then the likes of Heartcatch or Go Princess, which says a lot.

And the boyfriend of the female villain feels much more melancholic then normal for a precure character, almost as much as the more robotic Lulu.
