As she said, Hope Daylight Towa. I mean, I know standards shouldn't be high, but at least Hime's name was funny in its ridiculous. This is just silly without the good stuff that usually comes with silly.

I wouldn't know. I stopped watching this season subbed after episode four because the subgroup I was watching only did those episodes and I like to watch all my subs from the same place. Though Hope Daylight Towa isn't much stupider than Hope Grand Kanata.

Might be beating a dead horse, but the episode title for 36 might still bear a chance for my old guessing, maybe that shot with Minami's mom was meant to be the 'end-of-episode event' or something, once everything's cleared up. The episode title has this for a word: "Wavering Heart"

But aside of that, I'm gonna just follow Sterok's advice and just think: "It'll lead to nowhere!"

36. Minami's parents are about as interesting as their daughter. Important people are invited to the party. This includes superheroes, foreign royalty, and Yui. Minami sort of thinking about becoming a marine biologist/vet/whatever was actually mildly interesting, but it really didn't have much impact.

We have our first confirmed VA for Smile's dub, even if it's just for background extras. It's hitting Netflix in mid-December.

EDIT: Keith Silverstein has also confirmed he's in the cast. Knowing him, he's most likely one of the main bad guys. :)

EDIT: Ben Diskin. I love him, but the fact that he's cast in many Sabanized shows makes me sad.

EDIT: Ben Diskin. I love him, but the fact that he's cast in many Sabanized shows makes me sad.

The only other Saban dub I can remember him doing is Digimon Fusion. He grew up watching the other dubs they produced. XD

Keith Silverstein is voicing Ulric which is Wolfrun's dub name.

Lemme ask this then. In what area does Saban do their dubbing? So I'd know the type of VA that might pop up.

I must say, I find it hilarious that Yo-kai Watch got over mostly intact aside from westernizing the names while Smile is getting significant changes despite the fact that it should be pretty easy to keep it faithful aside from a few cultural references.

I'm warming up to the name Glitter Force though. Not sure why, but it sounds just like what I'd imagine a goofy, girly version of Power Rangers to be called.

Do we actually know the extent of the changes yet aside from a few altered names?

All we know is that the girls are preteens now rather than teenagers, the music is being replaced, name changes, and that 8 episodes are being cut out.

Preteens? What the hell? They are way too tall for that. How are they going to deal with Nao's family which are actually that age and the fact that Nao is taller than adults? I guess we can figure out a cut episode, Seriously WTF.

I am just wondering how they are going to shove 'glitter' into all this, the show has absolutely nothing to do with it what so ever.

Saban has had a hard time with franchise installment names the past couple years. ^^;

But Digimon's proved time after time that the acting tends to make up for crap editing when there's a strong enough cast. Ulric isn't that bad a name anyway, certainly could have been worse.

Yes it was, they went around curing cursed objects possessed by Zakenna, which comes from a really bad Japanese curse "zakennayo", via beating the crap out of them and smashing them to little pieces that say 'sorry' while running away.

By Heartcatch they were curing curses of the heart, while Smile was generic DESPAIR / Bad ends.

Says the guy who was hoping for Johnny Yong Bosch to play Pop and wouldn't mind a little Stephanie Sheh to be part of the cast as well. I'd say that fits the definition for "fantasizing" to me — at least a downplayed version.
