Her voice is annoying and so is she. I vastly prefer Puff and Aroma.

[up] My problem with Puff right now is how she mysteriously continues to lose her hair clips — you know, the very things that keep her from tripping. I'm amazed that Haruka hasn't lampshaded this at all yet.

Aroma to me isn't that much better. He acts way too bossy for his own good, and not in an effective way either. See Mepple if you want a bossy character who actually affects things (usually Nagisa) with that attitude.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.

I hated Mepple for the longest time. At least until Porun showed up. Who I then hated until Lulun showed up. Who was too pathetic to even be worth hating. Anyway, I find myself fine with Aroma. He's a bit bossy, but he's not annoying (Porun), abrasive (Mepple), or too childish (Candy). Plus when compared to Pafu he comes out looking much better. Which probably means Pafu is going to hold the secret to some sort of power-up.

Maybe just me, but I dislike Ai the most. I think it's because she's the most human-like, so it makes her seem creepier even though she's essentially Chiffon 2.0.

Again, I disagree AIDS Ninja (GOD THE AWKWARD).I like Mepple but I never got the impression he was bossy. He was LAZY and or DEMANDING though you are right on the money that he did knew how to get what he wanted from Nagisa but he never did anything plot worthy with that. Aroma definitely is Bossy and demands a lot but Mepple wasnt bossy. Aroma is also more serious and focused about mentoring and guiding Pretty Cure. I DO agree that it hardly amounts to much either.

[up] Thank you for correcting me on that, albiet that is more of a play on Exact Wording (to me, anyway) more than it was a true disagreement. I see your point though, and I would like to see the writers make a major play with Aroma's more serious personality.

[up][up][up] Just call him [nja]

I would chalk up Mepple's high-maintenance to being based on a virtual pet. I find his interaction with Nagisa entertaining at the very least. He doesn't directly affect the plot outside of his spotlight episodes, but he does try to keep Nagisa focused towards their goals. This makes him better than the baby mascots who are essentially plot devices. I would lump Lulun with them as well.

The movie mascots make everyone else look better. Just about all of them are annoying and/or causes trouble and that damn Precure book needs to be banned and burned.

You know what I really like? Milk. It's tasty, good for your body, and is a great drink for any and every meal. Kids, don't forget to have a glass every morning. Now it's sad that the glorious name of milk has to be tainted with the rotten corpse of one of the worst creations to ever grace out universe, but them's the breaks. She is the not very secretive, yet very stunning Milky Rose.

In case you haven't noticed, I heavily dislike Milk. Why? Because she does nothing to deserve being liked. Half of Nightmare was friendlier than her, and they were probably the darkest villains to date. Look at her introductory episode. She acts like a doll for free food, leeches off others, blames Nozomi for stuff she never did, mocks her for no reason, and overall acts like a spoiled brat. Nozomi was nice enough to pick up the cute doll, and she would've let Milk eating her lunch slide if Milk didn't act so high and mighty for being a thief. Because that's what she was, and she didn't even have the grace to feel bad or apologetic about it a little like most people who do that are. Then she goes and tries to commit fraud when she's not allowed to mess up the store anymore. Then she runs away like she's one of the baby fairies. And she's treated like a victim the entire time. Truly Nozomi has more patience than most people give her credit for, because I would've supported her punting the rascal out the front door.

Now why does she get sympathy from everyone despite not earning it? Well she's one of three survivors of her kingdom and had been traveling on her own for months without anyone to talk to. So that kind of sucks. Her heart is in the right place (at least in theory) as she wants to be the caretaker of her princes. Which would be nice, except Coco and Nuts can take care of themselves perfectly fine, so it's not clear what purpose she serves. Actually, I'm really not sure what purpose she served in the first season. She was the catalyst for the super attack (why?), and that was about it. Aside from that she just made herself a pain, whether she was mooching off others, running away, getting sick, or becoming the hostage of the day. She can't even claim to be trying as hard as everyone else, seeing how in the marathon episode she just hitched a ride on someone's shoulder while everyone else was running.

Let's see, she and Nozomi fighting was what set off the mid-season fight. Which she took a really long time to apologize for. Karen took care of her when she was sick, which did lead to them becoming good friends. So that was nice, albeit Karen did all the hard work. She also gave the Dream Collet to the (disguised) enemy. Whoops. She does soften up and become a little more bearable over the season, but she never stops being annoying like most of the annoying mascots do. Out of the eight main characters (why did Yes 5 handle 8/9 main characters so well when DokiDoki couldn't handle 6 or Happiness Charge 4/5?) she had the least attention and development, but it did exist. And after that we could safely ignore her.

Oh yeah, Gogo. That's a thing.

So Yes 5 gets a pointless second season, which means more Milk. She doesn't exactly start out strong what with sending dozens of letters and pretending Palmier is under attack. But that changes when she gets the Blue Rose and gains a human form, which she names Kurumi. Which is completely unrelated to that other Kurumi that popped up later. So here comes Milky Rose, all mysterious and powerful. She knows all about them, kicks plenty of ass, and is strangely adept at integrating herself into the group. She even fights with Nozomi a lot, just like a certain fairy. So to nobody's surprise (except Nozomi and Urara), Milky Rose is Milk. It's in the name. Why did it take so long for them to figure it out? And where was she living before she moved back in with Nuts? Anyway, why did she hide her identity? Because she wanted to seem mysterious and cool, and I guess you can't be cool and a tiny fairy at the same time.

As a human and pseudo-Cure Kurumi suddenly becomes a lot more helpful in everything. Not coincidentally, she also becomes much more bearable. Funny how much more tolerable arrogance is when you can actually do something. She matures a bit and manages to avoid most of her bad habits. She's still a braggart who has no problem talking down to Nozomi (which she never does to Urara for some reason), but she at least doesn't do anything wrong or be mean unprovoked. She also becomes much more determined to actually be helpful and goes out of her way to make sure she isn't a burden, in sharp contrast to her earlier portrayal. The extra power goes to her head a bit, whether it's seeking attention or taking on more than she could. For the most part it works, and she manages to be not annoying and fit in pretty well. Too bad she doesn't contribute much to the plot, though that was pretty barebones in Gogo anyway.

One thing slightly bugs me about Kurumi though. She stands out a lot. Her design, both as Kurumi and as Rose, seem very striking to me. She stands out more than she really should. It's not the purple, since none of the other purples stand out like her. It's a good design, and I can't put my finger on the reason.

As far as I'm concerned, she's a Cure. Luminous has reasons to not be one, but Rose is one in all but name, Especially since Beat showed that fairies can be Cures. Rose represents secrets. Because she hid her identity for a few episodes? Or maybe there's symbolism with the blue rose I'm unaware of. She's a strong fighter, with strength that surpasses her teammates, which makes up for her early lack of skill. In particular, she loves her elbow strikes. They're her signature. Her attack is pretty strong, better than everyone else's normal attack at least. That's what happens when she doesn't have to divide her rose up into 5 parts. I'll admit, Milky Rose Metal Blizzard is a cool sounding attack. Too bad she can't spam it. Then All Stars gives her a huge crater fetish (which seems to just be reused almost every movie). Definitely one of the strong ones. She had a rivalry with Anacondy that I don't think ever got properly settled. Anacondy just kept beating her. Tough luck.

Kurumi's decent performance in Gogo doesn't completely make up for being the absolute worst part of the first season, but to her credit she puts in a good effort to become a decent character. The fact that Gogo managed to salvage her of all people is part of the reason why I'm not too harsh on the season. Milk was ridiculous though, and thankfully no one has ever gotten nearly as bad as her since. Hopefully that stay this way so she can keep her crown.

Milky Rose not being a Cure has two reasons.

One is that Pretty Cure is powered by the Red Rose. All five of them. Rose gets the entire Blue Rose all to herself,as to distance her from Pretty Cure.

Two and the most obvious, most plausible and likely is Washio's "Only Normal Girls can be Precure".I loved his seasons but Im glad he left to have more variety. Of course now I want him back. Well, him and either Naoki Sato or Yasuharu Takanashi. And he IS back in a way now!

Also I think this new producer (The one who's tenure began with Doki Doki) and crew are way too haughty and over confident. They explicitly said how much they thought their output was outstanding and stuff like Mana being like a Shonen Main Character was a clever move. Too bad that Doki Doki had mediocre fights and that Mana was the least popular character, stuff that Shonen does better overall. I really hope the low sales and bad reception of Happiness Charge has humbled them a bit.

[up][up]having a second producer on board at the same time (the first time in the franchise) with Princess Precure seems to be their way of being humbled.

Ehh... I kind of want to like the Happiness Charge movie. I actually like some of the things it does. But...

Starts off with the best and most important character, Masuko. And some weird thing that's there because? Fortune feels like she uses almost all new attacks during the movie. At least the Miracle Lights section was kind of amusing this time. Depressed little girl. This time handicapped. What, was Nico not enough? Whose bright idea was it to put Megumi in charge of controlling the puppets anyway? And I keep forgetting that Hime's abbreviated name means Snow White. Always throws me for a loop now. Hime gets all the amusing stuff and has the dream. So naturally it must still be a Megumi movie. Hime needs to figure out that Iona is her prince. Megumi is used to the weird stuff. Off to the Doll Kingdom. Which is a better name than the Hope Kingdom by the way.

Fun times for all. Except Blue. No loss there. Hime gets her fun. Ribbon is the true top maid. Dancing time. Seiji gets lucky, and Glasan gets the girl. Turns out Yuuko and Iona have their own ways of being smart. Too bad it doesn't do them any good. Nice knowing you Seiji. So here's Tsumugi's sad backstory. Liked dancing, then her feet stopped working. Eh, works for me. Nothing Megumi can do about it, so she's going to learn a valuable lesson about what you can and can't accomplish. Except it's obvious the bad guy did all that. Ribbon and Glasan look almost exactly the same as dolls. Black Fang reminds me of Joker.

Poor loyal dolls sacrifice themselves. Would be sad, but they're dolls, and I don't care about them. Not a bad scene though. Yup, Fang was behind everything. Way to ruin whatever depth the movie had. Now a nice pep talk is all that's needed to turn things around. I've seen this before how many times? Final battle is giving me flashbacks of Hacha's finale. Oh hey, this time the bad guy is smart enough to block the Lights' power. At least for awhile. Ribbon is still funny. You know, I don't mind a pink exclusive movie power-up, but Heart and Lovely getting two exclusive super modes is just lame. And Super Happiness Lovely is a name even worse than they usually are. At least Forever Lovely meant something. Oh hey, the movie that's usually designed around some sort of pink wank actually had a better ending with more teamwork than the actual show. Amazing. I actually have to give it a bonus point for that. And we finish off before we actually see Tsumugi's dance. Weak. Wait, the second dance ed took place in a blimp? That's the real surprise.

I like and hate this movie at the same time. The ideas and themes presented are more interesting than I thought they would be. Hime and Ribbon are funny, while Megumi avoids being obnoxious. But the fights are kind of meh. More importantly, Fang disabling her feet, thus bringing them back, kind of ruins whatever sort of message the movie wants to send. Shit happens, and some people are screwed out of their dreams. But that doesn't mean they can't find happiness some other way. This way though, all despair is treated like a solvable thing that magic can fix, which doesn't work when it's a girl in the normal world having a somewhat mundane issue. I'm sorry, but it really ruined the movie for me. Yeah it would probably be too depressing, but like the show's finale this needed to have some guts. And in general there a bunch of minor quibbles that bugged me, preventing me from getting really invested. Nothing ever clicked.

To sum up, not terrible, not great. Nice ideas, but bad execution. Better than the show's finale at least. This time you know it's going to disappoint, and the final battle is less of a slap in the face to what the show stands for. Worth a watch if you like the characters.

Yeah, what ruined the movie for you also did for me. I spent much of the movie hoping it wouldn't end that way, despite all of the indications that it would. I can understand the ideas about escapism that it was trying to tell, but I think they got the angle all wrong, at least with that sort of execution. The All-Stars movie did the same thing better.

Busy weekend. Go Princess episode 9. Op is back to normal already? It's only been 3 episodes. I see it's changed a lot since then. We're not even in the double digits, and Close is already on last chances. Dude needs to try harder. Cameos all over. Yui doesn't really fill the blue role of the trio that well. Vice president is a flirt. Close can't even get respect from his own monsters. To think I thought he was vaguely threatening at first. Scared of ghosts. Worth a chuckle I guess. Those two guys are worthless. Twinkle continues to be the best. Haruka is now Minami's knight. Sure, why not. But who turned off the lights? Doesn't look like Close did.

Eh, still not convinced Minami can carry her own episode. Still needs something more.

I kinda regret what I said about Haruka improving because the writers seem to made a new formula for tedious predictability from it.

Haruka is bad at X and feels bad about it, so she calls Miss Shamour who proceeds to teach her in a montage, while she is very bad at X at first she quickly becomes decent at X and then she learns a very valuable Y lesson.

I really liked that Minami scolded Haruka for slacking off at her stuies though. Even if it only meant yet ANOTHER montage showing her studying. AMANOGAWA KIRARA again was the most interesting and realistic of the three.

I like all three of the girls here equally, which hasn't happened since heartcatch for me.

That alone is a good sign.

They didn't call up Shamour this ep, either.

"Sees Your instead of You're"

GOD WHY!?

Dont get me wrong I fucking love Minami and I really love Haruka even more. I like Kirara a bit more but this cast is the most equally likeable we've had in YEARS, and they are all great. I really love every girl. And I actually praised the episode before this one(The dress one,I havent seen the latest one). Im glad to know this new one bucks the trend. And I did like the episode I "Complained" about. At least this time she really made the dress instead of undoing Haruka's progress with a joke like the Tennis episode did.

Umm...hi Precure fans. I like Pretty Cure. My favorite seasons are Heartcatch, Splash Star, and Suite. If it keeps up, Go! Princess will be added as well. I've seen those along with Doki Doki and Happiness Charge. They were okay but had a lot of flaws. I have written my own Pretty Cure fan fic, an all OC story called Twilight Pretty Cure. If you want to read it, feel free to check it out here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10288703/1/Twilight-Pretty-Cure I'm not the best writer, and I know it's kinda choppy...but it's kinda the most hated thing on the Tumblr side of the fandom and...let's just say the Tumblr Precure fandom has NOT treated me well despite my best efforts. I'm hoping to look for more rational, understanding fans I can share my love for it with.
