After Ubisoft's DRM nonsense PC sales went down 90% (Source) ...I find it hilarious that they still think it's Piracy when plenty of other gamedevs don't have this issue.
As a PC gamer and someone who likes the Screed series I'll probably have to keep buying the shitty ports with irritatingly intrusive DRM but the rest of Ubisoft can get bent.

Funny thing, that's something I think a lot. But Ubisoft is not in the position to say that. With the shit they pull, PC gamers have very good reason to bitch about them.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Sigh. Just another developer who wants to take the easy way out with regards to the PC market, i.e. being a dick about it.
The way they seem to be blatantly ignoring the DRM data makes me wonder if someone's trying to cover their ass.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I did hear that the developer who said that recanted his statement, calling it a 'mistranslation' and adding that English wasn't his first language. Still didn't remove the sour taste of that initial statement, and it leaves me to wonder why the hell developers can be so keen to shoot their mouth out and end up entirely alienating a group. He might as well have stated a self-fulfilling prophecy because even when there is a PC port, "bitching" PC gamers likely won't buy it, nor would quite a few others.
For the record, I oppose piracy and do acknowledge that quite a few of the PC crowd can be caustically vocal (just look at Metacritic). However, I have absolutely no love for Ubi's business and DRM policies and would much rather avoid having to deal with always-on DRM (only a matter of time that a crack comes out anyway, screwing legitimate customers), and the comment pretty much reinforces why I don't like the company.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.I always tought that the only reason why they keep using their DRM is because of used games sale, I've read a few things about it being a bigger "threat" than piracy and since it's useless to fight piracy anyway yet they keep doing it...
Also, not everyone that pirates a game would go buy it if it wasn't "free" so lots of piracy doesn't exactly mean they are losing a LOT of money(tough I don't have any data about this kind of thing, It's just what I think it is and how it works with me), combined with the massive outrage it caused with people who actually BOUGHT the game this seems like the only logical reason for the drm.
But that may be a stupid theory, since the DRM won't get RID of used sales too, or maybe they just want to cause a headache for both people who buy\sell used and pirates.
:)Regardless whether or not there is a translation error, Ubisoft's retarded DRM-policy speaks for itself, anyway. I am just sorry for all the non-idiots working for and with Ubisoft.

Well Ubisoft you lost any money you might get from me. To bad to I was thinking of picking up some of the Creed games for PC.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Meh, I don't really follow Ubisoft Religiously, anyhow.
Watch SymphogearI disagree with the writer of that article.
Troper PageI suspect that, for someone high up in Ubisoft, its a matter of personal pride. Changing their DRM policy would require admitting that he was wrong, and that can't happen.
More generally, the industry needs to admit that spite does not pay taxes, wages, or dividends. Preventing people from pirating makes you no money; increasing actual sales makes you money.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.com"Waaaaaaah other publishers are doing way better on Steam and what not, and those... *uggghhhh*.... indie games are selling well despite no DRM... let's blame the PC gamers for not liking us!"
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, oh wow. You never cease to amaze me, Ubisoft.
How can any company be that comically out of touch with reality?
"Stop bitching, Ubisoft" -PC Gamers, Valve, Cryotek, indie games devs, etc.
What do you get if you burn tomatoes? Ash Ketchump.Valve wouldn't exactly be in the position to make such a retort against Ubisoft. They may be less idiotic about it, but DRM is DRM.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.^I don't agree with that attitude at all. DRM is bad when it gets in the way of the game (or worse, general computer use). If it doesn't, well, no problem.
Infinite Tree: an experimental story
I disagree. Steam may be DRM but its about as much DRM as a door guard checking your ID. ID that is stupid hard to lose unless you hack.
Ubisoft's DRM is like Legends Of The Hidden Temple. So many hoops. And then it runs like ass too, while the pirates skip those hoops and get a better playing game.

Its kinda annoying that people automatically assume that since Steam = DRM and There are annoying forms of DRM = All DRM are bad, so logically Steam = Bad
DRM is always crap. Let us treat costumers as criminals while pirates have everything easier!.
Again, I have no problems with Steam, so either Steam isn't DRM or all DRM aren't automatically crap
Yeah, Steam's DRM consists almost entirely of "did you launch it this month? Okay, have fun."
Infinite Tree: an experimental storySteam is the equivalent of a door guard checking your ID... when you try to enter your own house. And when he's off work or on a break, you can't get in. And sometimes he's bored and doesn't let you in just to be a dick. And sometimes he's drunk and mistakes you for an intruder, and won't let you back in until you confirm your identity with their office in New York. And don't even think about bringing friends over! Get your own houses, you house thieves!
For people who live in apartments or even condominiums, that's a very real prospect. :P
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

Really, Ubisoft? Your grasp on the PC market is shaky due to your shitty DRM, and then you go and pull this. God damn. Do you all have rocks for brains?
Who at Ubisoft even let this guy say this? I mean... really?
It's funny. I was considering playing the Assassin's Creed games recently, but with Ubisoft pulling this garbage, I'm not sure.
