I just had an idea for a Warhammer 40,000 RPG. And not a crossover ether.
All the factions (Depending on who wants to play whom) are dumped on 20th century Earth and have to survive.
The catch? They're 28mm scale
...Would we be able to play some of the really weird stuff that was in the earlier* editions? Because if we were, that would really sell it for me. Still sounds like goofy fun so I'd check it out anyways, but yeah.
It would pretty much be a mix of the usual grimdark of Warhammer with goofy interactions...as they're the size of toys.
And I'm not opposed to early edition stuff showing up, so long as it doesn't completely godmod the hell out of the RP.
I'm thinking they all wake up in a Games Workshop store in the middle of a Shopping Mall right after the shop closes and the staff leaves, giving them the whole night to shoot up the entire mall. Then when daytime arrives the mall thinks terrorists have hit it and all the factions have to hide from the SWAT teams that show up.
Given the fact of how big regular humans are going to be compared to the factions, the average gun is going to be like a semi-auto earthshaker
I guess the only thing I'd consider for the Cross Slash Crisis (IIRC) is that the GM didn't have time for this...
Nothing else except having the big three cities to start in was a good idea in itself.
I was thinking some epic overarching plot with various deities slowly manifesting themselves in muggles in an attempt to claim the most worshippers, because, due to them existing on a different plane of existence, they cannot directly interact with our world. Worshippers are sources of our-dimensional mana, or essentially battery juice, for the deities which allow them to invest their essence further into the character/s and our plane. In a perfect world, deities of all religions, from small-guys like Euterpe and Hathor and Aoife, to biggies like Hades and Horus and Loki, would be back stabbing and plotting and gambit-ing and allying with deities of their own religion, till one comes on top. While I have a basic plot outline, I doubt I have the organisational skills, reliability or dedication to sustain such a huge plot that I'm not sure many people would be interested in anyway.
...''
J-just a thought.
-slides out of view-
Edit: Wait, is that a version of Aut Omnia Aut Nihil? :( Agh.

When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.I'm afraid that's being used there.
Anyway, the planned RP that I had with a reality show-based survival plot doesn't have a title yet...
I'll figure that out eventually.
Maybe a title...
Combat and Survival. Maybe a good RP title for a scenario where you need to hide and fight from the shadows...
I've had an idea for a little while for a Gundam RPG.
Where the various characters end up on two ships and are ordered to deal with each other (The winners get sent home). Of course, me being a sadistic bastard, I would not just stick all the heroes on one ship and all the villians on another but mix it up so we get some nice healthy conflict and character development going.
I'd mostly like to stick to the Gundam Universe as the various timelines give plently of characters to play with and use.
Any thoughts?
...Would G Gundam stuff be allowed?
This may be important.
Oh, I like that idea.
Also, lots of people talked about a FMA RP in this thread, I can say I am co-G Ming one that has just opened. You can check it out over here.
I also am interested in doing a Team Fortress 2 RP. The players would create original characters that would be the Spy, the Scout, or whatever class they choose of the RED team- the BLU team will be all NPC, in the beginning. The RP would focus on the interaction between the classes and the mistery behind the war between RED and BLU.
The other idea would be a RP partly based on Clone High. Basically, the characters would be teenage clones of fictional characters- especially ones that are adults or little kids. Why is it based on Clone High? I really want to play Scudworth and Butlertron... Wesley...
@Moe: Well G Gundam last I checked was part of the various Gundam Universes so I don't see why not. The vast difference in control and technology would startle most other characters but that would be part of the fun.
I had the idea (not really mine so I can't call it my own) that each 'side' is dumped onto a vessel and has to not kill each other in hand to hand and then figure out how to get along.
Who would you play Moerin? Rain or Allenby?
Right, I've got three "solid" (i.e. more than a general concept) RP ideas that I have been toying with, and although I wouldn't be putting them up for quite some time yet, I want to see if anyone else would be interested in them.
- Megaman Zero RP: It would be set from just before Zero 1 to Zero 4. Player characters would either be members of The Resistance, who are aiming to throw off the draconian rule of Neo Arcadia, or at the behest of the Neo Arcadian military as they try to crush those troublesome rebels who're causing so much unrest. The NA players would have access to tech of greater sophistication and power, but at the same time they'd be more likely to be tossed into extremely dangerous situations. The opposite, naturally, would be true of the Resistance. Although players would interact with canon characters occasionally, it would mostly be self contained.
Not sure how much appeal it has, since the Zero series seems relatively unknown around here.
- ArmA II RP: Set after the events of Arm A II, the players can play as any of a number of factions (Full list off the top of my head: USMC/British armed forces, NATO, ChDKZ, ION, Inc., Russian military, NAPA, and Chernarussian Defence Force) as they wrestle for control over the nation of Chernarus. Most players will probably end up on the frontline, but there's also the possibility of someone signing up as a "general" and directing their faction to victory. Of course, there'd be restrictions in play so that we don't end up with, say, an endless tank rush from one of the more primitive factions, but still.
Probably the RP with the least appeal here due to how much more realistic it is than the norm.
- Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy RP: Set around the same time as Jedi Academy. Players take on the role of fledgling Jedi as they learn at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum. However, there's something strange going on, and a group called the Disciples of Ragnos seem to be at the bottom of it. Players could also play as acolytes of the Disciples of Ragnos, if they so wished. At the beginning characters would only have access to a small assortment of Force powers and the single bladed lightsaber, but as they go on missions across the galaxy their capabilities will increase and they will be able to pick a lightsaber type for themselves.
Probably has the most appeal out of all these concepts.

Locking you up on radar since '09Interest in both your first and third idea. I played a little Megaman Zero and it was very interesting, even if I never managed to get very far into it.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Huh, I didn't know you had played Megaman Zero.
Still, thanks for the vote of confidence.
Locking you up on radar since '09Megaman Zero RP might be interesting, and you'll probably do a good job of it since you're pleasantly obsessed with Megaman.
Jedi Academy also holds some interest.

Oooh, also showing interest in the MMZ-RPG. I love that series.

I'd quite like a Jedi Academy RP.
Ah, thanks for the shows of support. I'm glad to see my ideas aren't complete bunk.
@Stratofarius:
It could be interesting, though I admit I have reservations - what would the plot be, and what would the RP involve aside from kicking the stuffing out of each other?
Locking you up on radar since '09Well, RED's looking for new recruits, after most of the past assassins retired. The new RED recruits will be the players (that means only nine players will get a chance to play) creating original characters that will obtain the position of each class. From there on, it's character interaction, but slowly, the recruits will discover the malicious plot behind the RED vs BLU war. What happened to the past assassins? What's the origin of the conflict? Just who is the mysterious Announcer? Who is Saxton Hale? And many, many more questions.
Also, there will be battles, but BLU will be all-NPC... for a while, though.
...yes. All the yes. You have my support.

All I want is a Fate/Stay Night roleplay where I can play as an OC Master. I've joined all the ones I could find and then they all died. D=

Let me compile the stuff I got for this proposed RP. Though if there are suggestions, feel free to let me know aside from Reven's suggestion, which I'm taking to consideration.
