[up]Isn't that just trolling though, if you've admitted to only teasing rather than actually debating?

If so, why hasn't a "Wild Troll Post Crusher" appeared?

You know there's a nuance between teasing and trolling, yes?

Let me try again. Twilight fell victim to Pascal's mugging.

I also find it freaking weird how easily Twilight forgave Sunset Glimmer, and how Sunset Glimmer got converted into Friendship and Cutiemarkism.

Essentially, whatever the writers say, goes. Anyway, at what point the deviation of characters on a fic from their perceived selves in the show breaks willing suspense of disbelief is entirely subjective, depending on perception, taste, and flexibility. I don't think that's a discussion worth having; those who care and those who don't will only waste each other's time.

How is Twilight forgiving her weird, given her characterization?

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about. [exasperated sigh]

Given it's her, it's harder to say definitively. But it's not entirely clear why she should be quite so much more forgiving of Starlight than she was of Discord. Twilight is certainly capable of holding a grudge. And Starlight's actions had worse consequences on both the large and small scale, and seemed more personally motivated with greater simple malice.

But eventually she did forgive Discord. There's also Sunset Shinmer. And some characters from the comics, namely the Bookworm and Cassie.

Also, I didn't read the last page because I honestly don't have the energy, so apologies if something I said was already covered.

I'm not saying she wouldn't forgive her eventually, I'm saying this was way too fast. I get that they have time constraints, but would it kill them to show a montage showing progress through a long period of time?

Likewise, that Vision of The End pulled straight out of Monster was a bit unnecessary and excessive.

It was just one of several possibilities, and one that let's face it, as many threats as Equestria has dealt with, is totally plausible.

Also, Equestria RUNS on Easily Forgiven the only one she ever held much of a grudge against was Discord, and that was less "I hate you for what you did" and more "I don't trust you." combined with him constantly still acting like a jerk most of the time.

I've finally started writing my own FOE fic again. Got done with the first chapter earlier today and am now a good ways into the second. Straight Shot's met Watcher for the first time and has now hitched a ride with a trade caravan, through which he'll meet the first of his own group.

Here ya go.

It's the first chapter, at least.

I've always had this weird idea of a Fusion Fic between FOE and Great Expectations.

I've been thinking I may have been a bit too harsh with my blog. If I were to do the whole thing over again, I'd probably be a bit more... measured. Not that my criticisms per se would have been particularly different, but there are some things that I'd definitely change (oh fuck my complaining about gender rations was stupid as hell).

I was in a very annoyed place when I started, and that didn't help anything. Nor did it help that during the final act I did the rough equivalent of dozing off during a movie.

Your blog was funny because of its Zero Punctuation-ishness. If you had the same criticisms but were calmer about it, I don't think it would've been nearly as entertaining.

No, no, it would have been far far FAR more tolerable and not quite so rage inducing.

Then again, I cannot freaking stand Zero Punctuation in the first place. Precisely because I completely hate that 'style' or reviewing.

I agree with Seraphem.

I do like Zero P, but not because of the causticness (that's just noise to me) so much as because of the occasional genuinely witty and bizarre moments and the smooth flow of it all. It's just very easy to consume, is all. My favourite VG reviewer is actually Campster, by a long shot.

But I'm glad to see you re-emerge from the place of annoyance you were in, Pannic, and that you're self aware about it. I'm looking forward to what a happier you could bring forth. Not to mention that I'm just plain happy that you're happier, or, at least, less annoyed. I don't get to say this often, but, to me, you're a valued friend and comrade.

Yes, it's glurgy, but we're bronies, we are not ashamed of cheesiness! Neigh! But instead we hold it like a banner, a standard, a rally!

SOB! OH PEARL!

Yeah I just, do not like ZP's type of style. Personally, my pick for greatest internet reviewer is SF Debris.

I suddenly recall my idea for a Valiant Heartsesque puzzle/adventure game based off FOE.

Someone wrote a STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl-influenced fic a while ago - I liked it but it hewed kinda close to the original MLP instead of going full-Zone. I had a go with my own version and it was shit. I'd like to read a fic specifically set outside of Equestria but still with ponies and their problems, yet with a heavy Ukrainianish/Russianish vibe.

Thank you for the kind words, Handle.

In any case, it's food for thought. If I were to do it again I'd probably emulate Mr. Plinkett more than Yahtzee, as much as I still like Zero Punctuation. Eh. Like I said, food for thought.

I need to get to updating that blog again. Next week I'm not so busy so maybe I can proceed with Memories.
